Historia
Jill and Derick knew a normal life wasn’t possible for them. As a star on the popular TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, Jill grew up in front of viewers who were fascinated by her family’s way of life. She was the responsible, second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle’s nineteen kids; always with a baby on her hip and happy to wear the modest ankle-length dresses with throat-high necklines.

Fascinating
Revisado: 03-25-24
Very well written and read book. The author was at the same time informative, yet discreet, and firm, yet respectful of her family. This is a very compelling read, and having also been raised under IBLP principles, I found it extremely relatable.

Historia
Empire of Sin re-creates the remarkable story of New Orleans' 30-years war against itself, pitting the city's elite "better half" against its powerful and long-entrenched underworld of vice, perversity, and crime. This early-20th-century battle centers on one man: Tom Anderson, the undisputed czar of the city's Storyville vice district, who fights desperately to keep his empire intact as it faces onslaughts from all sides.

Worst book I have ever read
Revisado: 01-20-17
Incredibly snarky, condescending book. It garnered the opposite reaction from me than the author intended.
