Wanted to like this but couldn’t
Revisado: 08-14-24
The main character is so self absorbed and ignorant. Why does she get a maid and brought into high court? I couldn’t finish the story it was too much teenage fantasy.

Well done. It’s so much fun to have a twist and a new concept for a cast of characters. Looking forward to the sequel

The narrator is terrible had to return this book
Revisado: 09-09-23
I loved book 1&2. But book 3 brings in a new Narrator who whispers for Joyce’s character. I couldn’t hear her or understand her. I was so sad that it was ruined by constant whispering. I returned it.
I will read the book myself. Please Audible do some QA and make sure Narrators don’t use whispers for a character’s general speaking. It’s impossible to listen to.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Historia
Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette. Where to go from there? From bad to worse, apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire - and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.

One of my Favorite Books
Revisado: 07-03-21
Absolutely one of my favorite books. The story is intriguing and hilarious. It’s a true treat for the ears with Scintillating vocabulary. I adore the characters and the world. The juxtaposition between maintaining good manners and the insanity of the situations is both entertaining and outrageously fun. Thank you Gail Carriger for bringing such delicious stories to life. I read the whole Parasol Protectorate and listened to the whole series years ago. “How to Marry a Werewolf” brought me back into the world and I had to relisten to the series again. Just Love it.

Back to what I love with Gail Carriger’s stories
Revisado: 05-30-21
I love that some of the Parasol Protectorate characters are back. Great story, listened to it twice. You just need to get past the “internal voice/ thinking voice” it’s terrible for the first 10mins then the voice becomes better production quality. I still didn’t like the sound effect but you get used to it. The story is worth it!!! There must be a book 2, I hope.

Performed well but a bad story
Revisado: 10-25-17
The story is completely unbelievable.Believe me, I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi but I just could not buy into this story. Too many holes in future-world. I'm on chapter 28 out of 40 and still don't care who dies or not. Not sure if I can force myself to finish this. Its also way too melancholy and in your face preachy about power, morality, and the loss of humanity..
Great narration though.
