Deadly Past
Revisado: 03-11-22
Phillipa Clark produced a “can’t put it down” novel that weaves real life believable characters into a thriller that keeps you guessing throughout. The main character, Charlotte Dean, runs a bookshop, is smart, and cares about the people in her life. But her world is shaken when a fire, a body and the appearance of mysterious characters appear. But she’s not afraid to take a risk on behalf of her friends. An amateur sleuth, Charlotte sets out to bring peace back to this cozy community. “Shall I put the kettle on?” is a common invitation to engage those involved.
Carla Kissane brings the story to life with her stand out imitation of the characters. Her voice over gives readers the sense of engaging in conversation with real live people. Her expertise makes it easy to imagine being right at the scene, and adds to the drama and reality of this well written novel.
