Historia
When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, he discovers that Quine's disappearance is no coincidence. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published, it would ruin lives - meaning that almost everyone in his life would have motives to silence him.

Overly wordy. Overkill on solving the case. Felt like at times that the reading was just blah, blah, and blah.

Who Saw
Revisado: 07-22-22
So, I thought this would be a story about the daughter introduced in the beginning, but the story is more focused on the police officers (one in particular), dogs, and the dad. So, is about what the officer sees at the end? Misleading/ Confusing title.

A Class Not to be Forgotten
Revisado: 07-13-22
I did enjoy this novel, BUT, without being familiar with French, I often struggled with keeping some of the names straight (of course, I was also multitasking as I listened, so . . . ). Nevertheless, if you haven’t taken up this book before - it is time.

I’m Hooked
Revisado: 07-02-22
I’ve read two Rick Mofina books now and am ready to start a third in this particular series. There isn’t a dull moment; something is always happening among the subplots. In this book, a little girl is lost in the Rocky Mountains, and one keeps to the edge of one’s seat to find out which moment will be her possible last one.

The Chase Hooks You
Revisado: 07-01-22
Intriguing. Two religious loonies as suspects a little bizarre, but still a very good read. There is enough continuous excitement to keep the reader engaged and although one knows who the killers are it is the chase that keeps one engaged. Other than the negative thoughts of a two-year old’s corpse being mentioned multiple times it’s a good read.

Best part is the last two words
Revisado: 06-29-22
A serial killer that chants nursery rhymes is a bizarre path to take for a storyline. And, to debate if he is actually crazy. Well, he is most likely loonier than the old woman who lived in a shoe and had so many children she didn’t know what to do. There are some interesting ideas within the storyline, but just like nursery rhymes, they are underdeveloped. Wouldn’t listen to it again, but did like the last two words.

Entertaining, but early twist reveal
Revisado: 06-29-22
This is a short novella, although about the intertwining of two women, is really about a jealous woman who looks for problems. Nevertheless, the beginning has too much brand naming, which really isn’t significant to the storyline, and, the reader is able to figure out early on the twist to come with the first mention of allergies, so, so much for suspense. But, it was still entertaining with characters one can hate and love.

Improvement from After Dark
Revisado: 06-28-22
First, the reader needs to learn to pronounce Sevierville! This storyline was easier to listen to as it wasn’t plagued with raunchy sex to fill up content. But, as soon as one hears of the previous marriage there is no more twist to come. So, if you want a casual mystery to listen to with some sexual content you may like this one.

About a Murder or a Detailed Sexual Tale
Revisado: 06-27-22
A three because the positive side is the twist of the mystery throughout the story line is entertaining. A low three for the negative side because it often seem the storyline wasn’t dominated by mystery but by flat out detailed sex to just add content/length to the book.
