After hearing of Nabeel's death from stomach cancer in September 2017, I decided to read all of his books since I have heard a lot about him. I feel like Queen Sheba who came to Solomon to hear of his wisdom and who was stunned to see the greatness of God in him. I am overwhelmed by the brilliance and wisdom of Nabeel. I couldn't stop listening. It was like reading an intense drama. My eyes have been opened to the Muslim world to get a glimpse of what they must go through to walk away from Islam. Also, God bless Nabeel's wife and child left behind. "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling." Ps 68:5

It is an invitation to the listener to put aside their traditional understanding of the Gospel of John and to replace it with another one more faithful to the original text perspective. The Jesus that will emerge will provoke you to rethink most of what you knew about this gospel.

Wow. Amazing analysis. Beautifully written. Jesus is truly king over ALL of Israel.
Summary of the book: John was written on the backdrop of the book of prophet Ezekiel. God, in the person of Jesus, came to judge the unfaithful shepherds of Israel. He Himself is the good shepherd. In doing so, He unites all 12 tribes of Israel under one King and one Shepherd, Jesus Messiah.
Incredible scholarship.

This book makes a plea for us to recover the old gospel as that which is still new and still fresh. The book stands on four arguments: that the gospel is defined by the apostles in 1 Corinthians 15 as the completion of the Story of Israel in the saving Story of Jesus; that the gospel is found in the Four Gospels; that the gospel was preached by Jesus; and that the sermons in the Book of Acts are the best example of gospeling in the New Testament.
