Historia
Paul Kagame grew up as a wretched refugee. He and a group of comrades, determined to force their way back home after a generation of exile, designed one of the most audacious covert operations in the history of clandestine war. Then, after taking power, they amazed the world by stabilizing and reviving their devastated country.

Excellent coverage of history and events around the Rwandan genocide. The narration was so say to listen to. Development of key characters was excellent. Lots of interviews/quotes/first hand information. I learned a lot & did not lose interest at any time. I learned there is a lot more to Rwanda than the horrific tragedy it is most known for. Would definitely recommend.

In this concise presentation of evangelical theology - the theology that first received expression in the New Testament writings and was later rediscovered by the Reformation - Barth discusses the place of theology, theological existence, the threat to theology, and theological work.

Good stuff

Excellent content. Some may complain about the narration. The narrator seems to have a speech impediment (not that there’s anything wrong with that)…it’s not a lisp but he’s definitely got something going on. For me it added entertainment value especially when he was passionately discussing serious historical events with words containing a lot of S’s. Occasionally replayed parts to my wife & we laughed out loud. The interesting events were well researched, I enjoyed it.

Historia
A century before Britain became involved in this terrible business, whole villages and towns in European countries were being depopulated by slavers, who transported the men, women, and children to Africa, where they were sold. This is the forgotten slave trade, one which saw over a million Christians forced into captivity in the Muslim world. Starting in the ancient world, Simon Webb traces the history of slavery in Europe, showing that the numbers involved were vast and that the victims were often treated far more cruelly than black slaves in America and the Caribbean.

Helpful if interested in reality

I appreciate this book. It covers a popular contemporary topic in an unpopular way: with historical data & facts.
Before someone has a strong opinion on a topic, it’s probably good for them to understand the history of it. Before ‘going to war,’ on behalf of some high minded social justice cause, it probably wouldn’t hurt to know the facts & data around that cause.
