Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Interesting, but too much self promotion
Revisado: 04-14-22
Terry Lenzner, like Forrest Gump, appears to have witnessed and played a role in most major events in US history between 1960s and 2000s. There is some interesting detail in his narrative, but is too self-promotional at times.

The author is very authentic and eloquent.
She takes us through her journey throughout the sexual assault and its aftermath in a very insightful manner making great observations about the society and justice system, class dynamics, and clarifying consent and accountability in the context of sexual assault.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Not about what the title says!
Revisado: 12-24-19
Mr. Gladwell appears to display subtle bias suggestive of support that the Stanford Swimmer might not be guilty or “enhanced interrogation” might be OK or Sandusky and Penn State officials might be not as bad as billed. Could not stomach to finish...Overall, superficial!
