Spread the word about this series! Out of the dozens and dozens of books and thousands of hours of audiobooks I’ve listened over the years the 131 days series is up there with the best of them and in some ways is the best of them. The banter and colloquialisms are the best in any series. Mr Blackmore ability to create characters you love or hate regardless of if they’re good or bad is another skill not many authors have.
Simply put this series needs more support and we’ll get more of it if that happens. Don’t be an unfit dogblossom! Spread the word!

I’ve read and listened to thousands of hours worth of fantasy writing, and it absolutely boggles my mind how 131 Days is not more popular and mentioned with the usual suspects of popular fantasy. I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about these books when they finally listened to me and gave them a try, on the contrary they usually say “how did I not know about this series!?” If you’re landing on this review for book 3 chances are you’re already a fan but if not get the whole series it’s worth every penny.

Historia
In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

Narrator was excellent but had make sure post stood out
Revisado: 09-21-22
Yet another post apocalyptic book with promise, but ultimately ruined by this weird obsession with strange tropes and biases that are not believable.
Here we go again…
Hillbilly ra cist just killing and raping arab boys, because that isn’t the exact statistical opposite of what happens in real life…. You know what not even going to list all the things that ruin an otherwise good book I’ll just say this.
If you’re an aspiring author. Have some balls and write something new for a change. I know you have to check certain boxes to plz your pay masters but there’s clever ways around it.

If you liked the first book you’ll enjoy this. There’s a few boomerish cringe moments in the book, but besides that it was solid. Surprised the author went through with the ending he did, and with certain tidbits alluding to a certain group of people…. Anyway enjoy it while it’s still up!

Between this story and the 131 days books, Blackmore has proved he’s not an unfit pisser trying only reach he bitches and sjws with the latter mountain man entry’s. Very enjoyable; and John Lee could narrate a blank piece of paper and make it sound good. Very pleased.

Acclaimed author Michael J. Sullivan created instant best sellers with his spellbinding Riyria Revelations series. This first volume introduces Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater, two enterprising thieves who end up running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Trapped in a conspiracy bigger than they can imagine, their only hope is unraveling an ancient mystery - before it’s too late.

Revisado: 08-24-20
I’m going through the chronicles and revelation books again, after being extremely disappointed with the first empire series.
I thought maybe I was burnt out, or if I listened back to the original series I’d like them less.... nope. Chronicles and Revelations are still the only adventure/fantasy books I’d call perfect. I actually wonder if there was a ghost writer involved in them, or did MJS let his wife write the first empire series because I’ve never seen such a contrast from the same author.
Anyway these books are near perfect and the first empire books vary from trash to mediocre to nauseating.

Characters actually mean something to me this time around
Another book without social/political pandering which is quite pleasant nowadays although it was released before 2016 before that was mandatory unless you wanted to get canceled. Regardless it’s a refreshing trilogy so far all around.
Great narration as well.

Historia
Stretched to his limit, Tamas is relying heavily on his few remaining powder mages, including the embittered Taniel, a brilliant marksman who also happens to be his estranged son, and Adamat, a retired police inspector whose loyalty is being tested by blackmail. But when gods are involved....Now, as attacks batter them from within and without, the credulous are whispering about omens of death and destruction. Just old peasant legends about the gods waking to walk the earth. No modern educated man believes that sort of thing. But they should....

It took a while for me to get into the book, and the characters took some time to mean anything to me but by the end I really liked them and the world started to make sense and left me wanting answers about the lore, history, gods and society.
A little rough around the edges here and there but still awesome.
