I Guess I’m Luckier Than I Thought
Revisado: 08-26-24
This was a wonderful, uplifting read / listen, and helped me realize how truly lucky I am. This mindset shift, which is Hendricks’ signature move, helped me in many ways, especially noticing more of how I can change my thinking when things start going wrong and instead see the good that was the silver lining. I’m a huge fan of The Big Leap, so anything Gay writes I have purchased. It was cool that he has partnered on this one, and Carol’s sections were some of the most interesting stories I’ve heard in a long time. Entertaining and uplifting, inspiring and helpful, a great book.

Historia
In just such a rock-bottom moment, Laban Ditchburn sought help. Sure, he had great friends, a great career, and weekends that would go down in the annals of history. But, underneath it all, Laban was crippled by addiction. Drugs, gambling, drinking, sex, junk food, negative self-talk, limiting self-beliefs ruled his life, catalyzing countless acts of stupidity that nearly landed him in the grave. This is the story of how one party boy went from zero to hero, and how you can too.

Laughing and Crying
Revisado: 01-19-24
I met Laban a week before buying his book. What an amazing and funny guy in person. We became fast friends. Little did I realize who I had just met. Upon reading his book, or better yet, having it performed in the most entertaining way by Laban, with the energy and enthusiasm of the Crocodile Hunter meets Jim Carrey and Robin Williams, this was a Grammy-worthy performance by the author. I listened mostly as I worked out. Often I would have to drop the weights I was laughing so hard. Other times I was absolutely touched by the poignant nature of his powerful points and messaging.
I love this guy.
I highly recommend this book to anyone needing motivation and inspiration.
It is not safe for work language but is perfect for someone needing a vacation from the doldrums of work life and taken into the adventures of Laban’s astounding life and perspective. I can’t wait to read his next one.

As Good as it Gets
Revisado: 09-11-23
Dr Peterson is a revelation. I have now listened to this book 2 times all the way through before I could write a review worthy of what it should be. I still am unable to capture how this book moves me. It changes my way of parenting, it helps me see leadership from a book (The Bible) I have read over and over yet never gleaned such insight, it lifts me to new levels of wanting to be. This is not a casual listen as you go. This is a sit down and focus and concentrate read, while being tutored by one of the great minds of all time. His performance as orator is Grammy worthy in this book. His voice will live in my head and help me do life better. He helps me want to write with my pen of light.

May be the best self improvement book ever written
Revisado: 07-08-20
Hyperbole? Perhaps. But having read every classic from Hill, Covey, Peale, Mandino, Franklin, Lincoln and anything from the past 70 years I can get my hands on to inspire my self improvement, I can honestly say this book is something of a combination of the best parts of all of them and a bold move into a new realm of inspiration. I have now listened to the Audible version and purchased the physical copy and will re-read it over and over until it sticks. But it’s already transformed my life and thinking. I’m stunned by how effective it is. Science meets story meets history’s greatest self help writings and creates what is the book of the future for every person. I am buying copies for everyone I care about.

Profound and immediate results for your business
Revisado: 05-19-19
David reading the book he wrote is brilliant. He is funny, engaging, and equally commanding as a Keynote Speaker and Author. His concepts in this book are amplified by real life examples everyone has experienced and will help you realize where you have missed the little things perhaps you did when you started your business that make it so customers leave and how to either win them back or never lose them again. Should be required reading/listening for every organization and the customer experience.

Revisado: 01-17-19
The way Richard speaks is in a conversational style. I would listen during a morning walk and feel better about life and my direction. Letting Go of many things holding me down and his instruction is very much worth the listen and contemplation, whether one fully agrees with duality and specific teachings. It will help further your own beliefs and commitments to God and self.

It’s tough to describe what listening to Pressfield read his own words can do to an artist’s mind, stirring the soul, and invoking a sense of courage to create immediately. Having enjoyed all of his works this is another wonderful reminder and kick in the pants to get some art created. Awesome listen.

One of my All-Time Favorite Books
Revisado: 10-01-14
LOVE this story. LOVE the passion it brings for getting outside, running, and the way it all comes together in the end is historic. I read this book years ago and it changed my life, the way I worked out, climbed mountains, and now to hear it on Audio, read so awesomely by Fred Sanders, with enthusiasm, accents, characters voices emphasized, this was very well done. A great listen. Inspiring!
