Historia
The door to magic is closed, but it’s not locked. And now Joshua Jay, one of the world’s most accomplished magicians, not only opens that door but brings us inside to reveal the artistry and obsessiveness, esoteric history, and long-whispered-about traditions of a subject shrouded in mystery. In 52 short, compulsively listenable essays, Jay describes how he does it, whether it’s through the making of illusions, the psychology behind them, or the way technology influences the world of magic.

A must listen/read for anyone interested in magic
Revisado: 11-05-21
I could go on and on for a very long time about how absolutely wonderful this book is. In fact, I just did go on about it with a friend on the phone.
Joshua knows magic. I mean, he gets it like few people living today do. I've been a magician for 35 years and saw Joshua lecture around 10 years ago and knew he understood the art like few do, even back then.
His knowledge and experience has grown immensely since then and this book makes that evidently clear.
This book is not just for people like me, although people like me can enjoy and appreciate it as much as the people it is for.
If you have even the slightest interest in magic and how the minds of magician's work, this book is for you.
If you are the least bit interested in learning some amazing stories you didn't already know about the greats of the past, this book is definitely for you.
If you want to know and understand what makes Joshua Jay one of the greatest minds in magic today, you will understand why, as you listen to this.
Joshua Jay and this book have given me a fresh level and layer of excitement for the craft and have reminded me why I am so proud to be a part of the sister/brotherhood. That is just a clue as to one of several reasons I also have a newly found additional respect for Joshua. I'm a minority magician that was very emotionally impacted by his encouraging words and I am so glad I took the time to experience How Magicians Think.

There’s a saying: The door to magic is closed, but it’s not locked. In How Magicians Think, professional magician and best-selling author Joshua Jay not only opens that door, he brings us inside and turns on the light, revealing the artistry and obsessiveness, the inside history, and the fascinating traditions of a subject long shrouded in mystery. But above all, he reveals the mindset behind the magic — how magicians become who they are, develop their skills, conjure their illusions, and delight the rest of us.

Amazing story and experience!
Revisado: 04-27-21
I read this book a few years ago and immensely enjoyed it.
It had everything I like. It had wonderful sci-fi action, fantasy, drama, an amazing story line and intriguing characters to name a handful of things.
The opportunity to experience the audiobook was one I couldn't pass up. It was honestly one of my most joyful audiobook experiences, and I have listened to a lot!
There is more production in this one than in most. It is loaded with sound effects and music to enhance the character experience.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Historia
“I have sensed a disturbance in the Force.” Ominous words under any circumstances, but all the more so when uttered by Emperor Palpatine. On Batuu, at the edges of the Unknown Regions, a threat to the Empire is taking root - its existence little more than a glimmer, its consequences as yet unknowable. But it is troubling enough to the Imperial leader to warrant investigation by his most powerful agents: ruthless enforcer Lord Darth Vader and brilliant strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Marc Thompson is the BEST!
Revisado: 04-27-21
The story, characters, production and voice acting are 2nd to none especially when Marc Thompson is involved. This was no exception. It was brilliantly done and I'll probably listen again!
