An amazing real-life insight into one of the most horrific recent world events told through the eyes of a clearly smart and resourceful kid. An amazing story which I am sure I will listen to again and again

Amazing, heartbreaking - A must read!

The atrocities surrounding events in this book sound like they should be deep in our past; however they were merely 30 years ago. This is an amazing and heartbreaking story told from the inside through the eyes of an intelligent young girl. I have recommended this book to many family and friends. It really does show all sides of human nature and opens your eyes to what people are capable of. A must read!

It worked!

It has been one month since I listened and I have not had a single smoke. After 15 years of heavy smoking and scores of failed attempts to quit, I never thought I would be able to quit cold turkey so easily. I listened to the whole book in one sitting across a full day while on holidays. Even half way through the book I didn't expect that it was going to work for me, however I stuck with it, and it did. I plan to listen to it again over the next week to cement its messages. There is no turning back for me.. I am a non-smoker YAY!

An engaging tale that took me deep into a culture I knew little of. The book is very well written, even if the amount of detail can slow it down a little at times. Great listen and well read by the author.

I am a mid 30's male and didnt think I would enjoy it but I found myself hoping to get stuck in traffic so that I could listen for longer...Narator done a fantastic job and the story was nothing short of captivating...just perfect!
