Historia
As the nation recovers from the Trump presidency, many questions remain: Why was the COVID-19 pandemic so grossly mishandled? How did we get so politically polarized? What caused White nationalist groups to come out of the shadows, and are they here to stay? The answers lie the twisted story of the relationship between Donald Trump and Fox News. Through firsthand accounts from over 250 current and former Fox insiders, CNN anchor and chief media correspondent Brian Stelter unlocks the inner workings of Rupert Murdoch’s multibillion-dollar media empire.

He’s now exactly what he warns against in this book
Revisado: 07-10-24
The hypocrisy with Stelter’s current behavior is too much. Stelter is not a thinker but a parrot of the pervasive thought of the moment. It’s hard to stomach that he knows how this works and keeps parroting the same nonsense.

An astonishing look inside the gilded gates of Mar-a-Lago, the palatial resort where President Trump conducts government business with little regard for ethics, security, or even the law.

Fascinating and Gross
Revisado: 08-12-20
A pretty interesting foray into the role of Mar a Lago in this Administration. I found the description of events to be pretty even handed. The author is not just out to show salacious misdeeds. That said the author definitely does not shy away from addressing some of the gross violations of the public trust that have taken place there. Ever wonder how or why a sitting US President would lower that office by meeting face to face with Kim Jong Un? Ever wonder why the Trump boys were in Mongolia shooting endangered sheep? The bizarre and gross answers are at Mar a Lago.
The book meanders in spots and the central thesis of the book could be stronger. But all in all, well worth the time to learn about the fascinating, if gross, backdrop that is behind some of the more bizarre events in this Administration.

Historia
Written by the late, beloved Dr. George Sheehan, Running and Being tells of the author's midlife return to the world of exercise, play, and competition, in which he found "a world beyond sweat" that proved to be a source of great revelation and personal growth. But Running and Being focuses more on life than it does, specifically, on running. It provides an outline for a lifetime program of fitness and joy, showing how the body helps determine our mental and spiritual energies.

Strange book but many good insights
Revisado: 10-31-18
Not well organized. Sheehan is all over the place. Preachy in tone. Feels more like a homily at mass than a book about running. All that said, lots of great insights from one of the most preeminent minds in sports. So the nuggets are worth the drudgery of the listen even though it would be silly to give this five stars. Like a bad run, I was glad when it was over but feel better off for the experience anyway:)
