Revisado: 09-28-18
This author knows 1st hand what it feels like to go thru the deep valley..she has used her experience to help me..and im sure countless others. This is not a dry book as many are..At 1st i hesitated listening bc i thought "I dont want to be reminded of my pain". But Im so thankful I finally listened..now wishing Id listened sooner. It didnt keep me focused on pain & sickness, but rather, what God can do through those hard times. Excellent Book!! Excellent Narration!!

Masterfully Written, Masterfully Read!
Revisado: 12-29-17
4th time through listening to this incredible story. I've tried in vain not to bust out laughing in the night & wake the household. I've been amused, amazed, encouraged. I've also come out a better person at the end of this book. Narrator captures ea personality perfectly, w separate & distinctly different voices 4 ea character in this story. Children will love this clean & enthralling story as will adults catch on to all the clever banter going back & forth..its a wonderful book & hilarious all the same!

Historia
Life isn't like the movies, and 11-year-old Turtle is no Shirley Temple. She's smart and tough and has seen enough of the world not to expect a Hollywood ending. After all, it's 1935, and jobs and money and sometimes even dreams are scarce. So when Turtle's mama gets a job housekeeping for a lady who doesn't like kids, Turtle says goodbye without a tear and heads off to Key West, Florida, to stay with relatives she's never met.

Turtle Indeed
Revisado: 12-02-17
I'm 36yo & this story with the narrative cracked me up..its for younger kids but adults will appreciate the dry witty sense of humor..this audio may also cause you some lack of sleep..for its too good not to hear all of it. Many times during the night I had to be careful my laughter didn't wake my husband. Great story. No bad language or content in this story that my own child couldn't hear. I appreciate that very much. Turtle has climbed to the top of my "listen to very often" stack of audios. I'll let you decide where it climbs in your pile ;)

White Wins in my Audio World
Revisado: 10-01-17
This story is a story within a story! It's "positively delightful" how White wraps up a London Librarian in disguise to spy on a man who, presents as a German loyalist, actually is a true live it Christian. Intrigue, hilarious scene after hilarious scene..kept me up all night, fighting to keep from "snorting in laughter as no lady would do"..This Book is honestly worth 3 credits- 1 for ea story in it, 1 for ea hilarious scene where ms. librarian boxes the ears of men in scenes who def deserve it, 1 for the "Said Dangerous, Bad Guy Bloke" who actually admires said librarian whose working for him..or so he thinks. A bonus credit for all the hilarious scenes..Bravo! Excellently written, Excellently narrated! My #2 favorite of 5yrs of Audible.

Well Worth the Wait!
Revisado: 09-12-17
In the beginning I found myself growing impatient with this story. That was only in Part 1. During Parts 2 & 3, I was shocked, intrigued & completely focused on this audio. Definitely opened eyes to different aspects of WWII, until then, Id not realized or even thought of! Kept me awake through the night! I learned more about the resistance movements, connections that were very likely. A book with real issues from that era, yet with a different spin than Ive ever heard! I appreciate the honest truth of the likely events, yet not filled w cussing & all the gritty details most feed upon in this day. Amazed also at Bonhoffer's showing up ;) Plenty ppl tell U the story outline. So I'll just tell U Parts 2 & 3 have enough action to grasp the focus of Part 1..also, I'll tell you it's now in my top 5 of favorite audios! Narrator gets better & better as the focus shifts from America to Germany. Excellent Audio performance of an Excellent Book witten!

About Ppl in Blue by 1 of Their Own in Blue
Revisado: 09-07-17
Excellent book & excellent narration! While not "preachy" this is still a Christian Fic Mystery. Clean story that kept my interest from beginning to end. Out of audios of late, I rate this as a 10 out of 5 stars. A story I will enjoy listening to again. If you like Dee Henderson's older Honor series, I believe you'll also enjoy this. But I'll let you have the pleasure of deciding. Well worth my credit!

Eason Excels as Usual
Revisado: 08-30-17
Lynette Eason's a wonderful author..always 5stars all the way! She remains consistent once again while many Christian Fic. authors have begun to compromise. Eason is 1 author I've never hesitated to buy her work. Many times I was asking myself "Now why didn't he.." But Eason once again produces a great story while tying up all & any loose strings.
The narrator wasn't the worst I've heard. But she lacks that punch listeners know they can count on in Eason's writing. With another narrator this book may remain in my collection of "Eason audios"..every audio to date. As is..well, I'll let you decide.

Short..yet Longer Lasting Truths than Most
Revisado: 08-11-17
Amazing, powerful story of injustices inflicted, yet mercies extended to 1 man. Tastefully written: tender hearts of youth aren't affected by trauma. True story written so well it satisfed my taste a work interesting enough to sound fictional. Doesn't gloss over pain while acknowledging many injustices I'd not considered..until this moving story. I'm aware of horrible treatment to slaves. Yet, not this audio isn't normal "slavery account". Hate burns white hot in "Amos" as he's later named..until he's bought by a Quaker, lovongly treated as part of the family. Sadly, his already written, pre-arranged pardon falls through. Amos, who learned mercy from this family, now extends mercy to them. His heart so full of hate, has been changed & continues changing. This influence countless lives. Well worth the time listening! The money, or credit, is worth double for this audio. I feel I, perhaps you as well, will find ourselves listening to this treasure many times! Rating this audio can't be rated high enough! Enjoy, be inspired, touched deeply & affected..until you long to have a spirit & heart of mercy as Amos Fortune.

A Powerful Masterpiece
Revisado: 08-09-17
I'm not a fan of non-fiction. But this book reads like fiction. 2 lives are changed by the horror of WWII & do what they can to help others. This book has a present & past tense to it. 2 present day ppl are searching for 2 lives in the past. Through the horrors of Auschwitz, all characters' lives have changed. The author doesn't go into excruciating details..but enough to show the suffering & horror of prison camps. Narration couldn't be better! Different tones & accents for ea. character. I don't take time to leave reviews unless a book touches me. This's an audio I'll listen to again & again. Reminds me of 'Auschwitz' by Joel Rosenburgh.. but not as detailed that you get bogged down. An excellent, inspiring audio worth every penny. 10 out of 5 stars in every catagory!
