A snarky assassin story.
The story follows Mist who is to go on an undercover assignment from the organization 'The Network' to stop the marriage of High Mistress Talia which in turn will have their desired political consequences. All the characters are fleshed out very well and the world-building is impressive, with some powerful magical elements.
Maria's voice captivated me thoroughly, capturing the likes of Talia as the self-absorbed nobility and Mist as a snarky but conscientious assassin perfectly.

This delightful podcast was present one night in my Spotify recommendations. Thinking it might have something to do with Matt Haig's book, I decided to try the first episode. OH! MY!!! Am I glad I did!
It talks about different topics pulled from mythology and history. The hosts are phenomenal! I get lost in the storytelling of Ms. Miranda Merrick and am only brought back when Mr. Darling's gruff voice announces the end. Sounds are played in the background that resonate with the story so well-absolutely amazing! The small commercial breaks in the middle are so ingenious and phenomenal. An absolute gem.

The narrator's tone is just perfect for this book. I loved the careful pronunciations of all the names, the quips added here and there to make it entertaining and the little life lessons sprinkled throughout. It felt less like a person reading a book out loud and more like someone telling me stories, conversing with me, and keeping me engaged.

I'm a newbie in Norse myths, so almost all of the stories here, however short, were enlightening.
Since this is a kids' version, I think that I would probably not have finished had I picked up the written version, but the audiobook was love-I finished it in one listen and thoroughly enjoyed it-owing to the narrator in its entirety. Despite being not exactly in its targeted audience (I wish ;-)), I am glad I opted for it. Check this out, the book starts with 'Introduction...or the part that no one reads...'. Steve's narration made such statements hilarious. I loved how care was taken to explain any difficult or new word so that the understanding does not break. Well deserved five stars.
