One of the best listens of the year
Revisado: 06-22-22
This series just keeps getting better. Great criminal procedural and mystery... but goes way beyond that with character development and interactions. We have enjoyed all before this third book, but each has gotten better than the previous. Very clever dialogues and subtle humor surrounding the context.

This was a great listen and performance. Clever, witty and "cozy" but not too cozy. Fun characters and kept you guessing while giving some laughs. Need to get more of Benedict Brown's books out of only Kindle and onto audible.com.

Something must be wrong with me
Revisado: 11-06-21
After seeing the mostly 5 star reviews I can only conclude that something must be dramatically wrong with me. I think this was a blah, blah bore. It totally lost any interest for the story or characters that I had enjoyed in the first book. It seemed (to me) that Osman was just going through the motions in an attempt to fill up many, many empty pages with words. Too many "off the wall" stories that had no impact or relevance to the story... like Bogdan's flashback to jumping into the water and breaking three ribs... or the forgettable character who used to run his fingers through his hair. Maybe this made some "laugh out loud" but I'm not that easily amused. (wasted credit)

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Just OK
Revisado: 02-08-15
I've listened to or read a number of books in this genre and was anxious to get this book. I was even more anxious to make the purchase after hearing so much hateful talk about the success of the movie and our servicemen.... especially military snipers.
Sadly I was disappointed in the book and think that is was "just average"... only getting a fourth star because of the character and service of Chris Kyle himself.
As a native Texan, I was annoyed by the "accent" and inflections of the narrator. I personally have been known to drop an ending "g".... saying huntin' or runnin'.
However after a couple of hours I was thinking.... "Please ask Pat to let you buy a 'G."
Anythin and everythin about the accent was driving me crazy.
I'm now just as anxious to see the movie but can't imagine how this narrative will translate into this raging success of a film.

Now, he is going to prove that for him, there's no gray area between killing for a living-and killing to stay alive.

I was expecting more than a 10 hour reading of a pre-teen comic book with comic book characters.

2 - Fight
3 - Take a hit
4 - Kill 'em
5 - Recover
6 - Go to 1 (infinity)
I stuck through the entire book waiting to see if it ever had any twist, suspense, character development, or plot. It didn't.
