Historia
Ah, Nyil, with its magic, its monsters, and its petty gods. A divine spat leaves French medic Viv stranded in the middle of an arcane disaster zone crawling with undead horrors. Thankfully, there are strange allies to be found, not least the mysterious interface that helps humans survive in this merciless world. Viv will have to progress fast to survive this calamity and find civilisation. She will also need a bit of luck. Unless, of course, she becomes the calamity herself. After all, luck is such a fickle thing.

Great fun from stay to finish!

I've been reading this series for a while now and absolutely love it! I was beyond excited when I saw the audio version available for pre order and I was not disappointed.
The writing is more sophisticated than most of the Litrpg fair or there, but has a flow and cadence that makes it easy to just keep reading until someone makes you stop.
The story is great and does not take ages to find it's legs. The main character, Vivian

My favorite vampire series
Revisado: 05-06-24
I love this series! I've been reading them as they come out on Royal Road almost since the series first started, and the published versions are even better! This audio version of book one is just wonderful. Hollie Jackson is a perfect fit for the narration. She brings Ariane to life in a whole new dimension. Do yourself a favor and pick up this series!

Historia
Tala had to fight tooth and nail in the Magic Academy to forge a path to power that was her own. She knows it’s her duty to use that power to serve humanity, defending them against the creatures of the untamable wilds. However, she skipped a few steps in her education, like apprenticing to someone who actually knows what they’re doing. Now, Tala has to balance learning as fast as she can with paying off the veritable mountain of debt the Magic Academy dropped on her shoulders for the opportunity; not to mention staying alive.

An Incredibly Well Conceived World!
Revisado: 04-16-24
I've loved reading The Millennial Mage on Royal Road and jumped on it as soon as I saw the book on audible. The world building Mullins pulls out for this series is nothing short of incredible! Tala, the main character is believable and likeable, other characters are well developed and 3-dimensional, the world is fascinating, and magic is intricate and well thought out.
Tess Irondale delivers a great performance, as always!
If you're considering this series, don't hesitate. it will not disappoint!

Beautiful and depressing
Revisado: 07-17-18
This series is a rare gem. It simultaneously contains and transcends the tropes of it's genre, and achievers what few fantasy novels ever have; a work of genuine literature.

This is a book about 10 "Great Ideas". Each chapter is an attempt to savor one idea that has been discovered by several of the world's civilizations - to question it in light of what we now know from scientific research, and to extract from it the lessons that still apply to our modern lives.

Vernor Vinge is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite authors! The simultaneous sameness and otherness of his aliens is masterful. I was genuinely sad when it ended. Also, Peter Larkin is a fantastic performer. I'll be keeping an eye out for more of his readings.
