One-hundred-seventy some odd days left in my senior year, and everything has changed. I went from untouchable to dating my best friends to making out to being betrayed. Why can’t they understand humiliating and controlling me doesn’t say I care?

Good continuation of the story
Revisado: 03-09-21
I really loved the first book. I feel like this second book was also good, but maybe a little slow? To be honest, I was shocked when the book ended. I thought “What? Enough hasn’t happened yet.” I would’ve loved if the story progressed more during this book.
I’m still in love with the series and characters. And am 100% buying the 3rd book. I’m really looking forward to it and am hopeful the story picks up it’s pace a bit more.

When it comes down to acclaim in the yearbook, my class rank would probably earn me my only entry, but probably very little else. I don’t wear cosmetics, do my hair, or really give a damn about my appearance in general. I don’t need to be cool, and I’ve managed my high school career navigating all the different groups from the nerds to the jocks to the theatre kids and the band geeks.

Loved it!
Revisado: 03-07-21
I really loved this book. It’s long which is wonderful. It builds the storyline and characters so well. It’s a bit of a slow build romance wise in the beginning... but that time is used wisely to really develop the characters and show their relationships.
I really didn’t have high hopes for this book before I started it. It seems like everything I listen to lately is just “meh”. This was great. So refreshing.
I’m excited to start the second book.

If God created the perfect man he would closely resemble Creed - on the outside, that is. He’s as cavalier as they come. Unconcerned. Cold. Dismissive. I wonder if he has any feelings at all. And when his lips touch mine, everything goes black. He takes me into his world, and it’s the most magical thing I’ve ever experienced. And I’m sucked in time and time again. Like a moth to the flame, I am ready to be set alight.

It’s ok.
Revisado: 02-04-21
It reads like it’s missing parts out of the story. Where’s the character build up? Where’s the details that make this book come to life? I finished the entire book and thought “What? That’s it?”. I barely feel like I know the characters at all.
The narrator is not a good choice for this story. Too breathy. Better suited for a historical romance. Not a contemporary.

It’s ok.... not terrible... but not great either.
Revisado: 01-15-21
I really wanted to love this book. So much so that I listened until there was only an hour left. But finally gave up and quit.
The characters never really develop... they just stay flat. There’s so much potential but it’s like the author didn’t bother expanding past the rough draft.
My second major issue, besides the characters being underdeveloped is the way the guy character supposedly thinks throughout the book. It’s just so unrealistic. He’s basically a frat boy from a crappy teen movie.
Also... the “jokes” aren’t really funny at all...and it’s the same “joke” throughout the entire book. He likes food. We get it.
I promise I wanted to love this book. I really did. It’s ok... not terrible... just not all that great either.

I met her among the chaos of a gang fight - one that I inadvertently started. Ember. Beautiful, feisty, and passionate. And the sister of Mercy, an infamous assassin. We fell for each other, hard. Until forces outside of our control intervened. Now, she's a prisoner, doing everything she can to keep her family safe. And I'm her guard, doing everything I can to set her free. I'd take a bullet for her. Hell, I'd take a few. In this dark, twisted world, we only have each other. But I have to wonder, is that enough?

I’ve been a big fan of this while series. I loved this book so much. The narrators are amazing, some of my absolute fav. I’ve listened to too many cheesy books lately, and this was the breath of fresh air I desperately needed.

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 03-05-20
I tried to give this book a chance, I really did. I listened to the first 2 hours of the book before I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I think the book itself might be good, but the narrator is terrible. She pauses constantly in weird spots and has such a monotone way of telling the story.
When she’s speaking as a character’s voice she’s actually pretty decent. But while she’s telling the story and not doing a voice, it’s so hard to follow. The weird pauses in the middle of sentences are killing me.

Historia
Former tennis player Easton Bradbury is trying to be the best teacher she can be, trying to reach her bored students, and trying to forget her past. What brought her to this stage in her life isn't important. She can't let it be. But now one parent-teacher meeting may be her undoing.... Meeting Tyler Marek for the first time makes it easy for Easton to see why his son is having trouble in school. The man knows how to manage businesses and wealth, not a living, breathing teenage boy.

Not her best book.
Revisado: 12-18-18
I’ve listened to almost all of this author’s other books, and while I really enjoyed the other books, this one fell short. Not a lot of depth to the characters or story. It almost reads as a first draft, still waiting for more to be added. The narrators were fine, not my favourite, but overall they were fine. The female narrator seemed too old to be reading for a 23 year old girl, lacked enthusiasm.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-03-18
I absolutely loved all the previous books in this series. But this one is just painful. It seems like it was written in a rush, the story and characters are flat and it lacks the emotion and humour of the previous books.
I’m really not happy with the narrator. Her voice barely changes between characters, making things very confusing. The way she reads Rhys’ parts really bothers me. I hope there’s a new narrator for the rest of the series.
