Disappointing Ending
Revisado: 02-09-25
I enjoyed the story and build up, but, as some reviews has said, the ending was uncalled for, and morally questionable. I can accept that the author has chosen this stance for her book, and some may be okay with that, but I prefer a protagonist who makes better choices, or if she made the choice she did, I would prefer a better build up to that choice. Something that leaves me thinking "oh, that makes sense, even if I disagree with it". But what happened in Buried Deep feels it was written for the shock element. I don't like to be put on the spot, nor shocked at something I didn't sign up for in a book I choose to listen to. Yet, at the same time, I think the author wants to show the kind of mindset of people who were both good and bad at the same time, the morally questionable. How evil doesn't sound so evil in their head, how it can sound reasonable. Those were good insights, but I still didn't like the book as a personal preference. Had I known what happened at the end, I wouldn't have listened to the book in the first place.

Historia
Olivia Bennett is on the tenure track at Cornell University, the resident expert on Southern women writers. After moving to upstate New York from Atlanta, she falls in love with and purchases an old, run-down farmhouse. The only catch: she knows nothing about renovating a house, taking care of land, or snow. Joss Bauer is a New York native who grew up in her family's construction business. She has a soft spot for old houses, but no patience for overpaid debutantes who want to play at country living.

Loving how it starts, but narrator is inconsistent
Revisado: 09-21-20
I just started and I'm already in love with Aurora Rey's story. It's what I expected after enjoying her other book, Recipe for Love.
Although, I have to admit that the narrator is not consistent with her voices and it can be a bit distracting. I feel like the main character's voice and accent has already shifted from chapter one to chapter two. Hopefully, I'll still be able to enjoy the story nonetheless!

Hannah Little doesn’t have much use for fancy chefs or fancy restaurants, but that’s exactly what Three Willows Farm needs to survive. When a local restaurant wants to feature her produce, she’s thrilled. But the contract means working with an egotistical and (let’s face it) drop-dead-gorgeous head chef from New York City.

I was completely hooked!
Revisado: 09-12-20
I was worried at first because of the reviews, but after listening to it, I just loved every minutes! The characters are charming, and I find myself wishing to see more of them, they feel like my friends. I like the sweet and slow pace of the story, it's a heartwarming story set in a farm with food and cooking. I find it refreshing and really cheers me up. I love Lori Prince's narration too. ❤
I usually don't write reviews, but this story gave me such a great experience that I feel compelled to do so. I'm thankful for Aurora Grey, Lori Prince and everyone involved in creating this audiobook. You cheered up when I really needed it. Thank you!
