Very interesting take on the rapture.

Not your average prepper story that’s for sure. I was slow to get into the first series but by the end I couldn’t stop and had to finish the rest. Glad I did.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

"The Suck" - the virus that claimed 97 percent of humanity - is gone. The arrival of other survivors with a different take on the future may be as dangerous as the virus itself. In the middle, with their hands on the scales, is a group of former soldiers and civilians who survived the virus in Antarctica. They’ve arrived to find a dead world, with no rules. The best-selling story of Jason, Pro, and Rachel continues where End of Summer, book one of the Seasons of Man series, left off.

Pretty good
Revisado: 12-22-22
This story is written very well. The characters are developed throughly, the narrative is clear, and performance is excellent. The problem is the plot. It is the same plot line as the first book. Bad guys are collecting people and good guys must stop them. I enjoyed this book, but didn’t love it.

Historia
The Appalachian Trail trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America - majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaing guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way - and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in).

Historia
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

This book is without a doubt Tom’s worst book yet. Hear him set up a story 5 times and never really climax. Big letdown.

Historia
There has been a major upheaval at Mount Weather. The president has been assassinated. Her running mate, who was her husband, is sworn in as president in order to preserve democracy, but in only a short time his behavior has put the Mount Weather community in a state of turmoil. If that wasn't bad enough, Chinese soldiers have been discovered on American soil and the zeds, already an ever present danger, are continuing to show signs of cognition and teamwork. The motives of both are unknown but do not bode well for the survivors.

Loosing me David..
Revisado: 10-29-21
The first few stories in this series are my absolute favorite. As it goes on though I find it stalling out. The characters are not being developed anymore, the plot lines are rushed and under developed. While I like that this book didn’t rely on Zach as much it introduces him at a very bizarre time and is frankly, lame. The dreams and telepathy are going to ruin this series. Might as well listen to Tufo if I wanted some truly hot garbage.
Hopefully Mr. Achord can get back on track in the next one. As soon as this one became interesting, BAM the Chinese are turned into zombies and no one cares to follow up.
The villain comes out of nowhere and throws everything away to get Zack. I feel like every villain does this in this series. It gets tiresome. I do love the Melvin and True storyline, these are good characters who I hope are further developed in the next book.
