Historia
In his 17 years as a Formula 1 driver, Jenson Button has picked up a thing or two about how to do the job properly. Sure, you need to be able to drive a car fast - and Jenson is on hand to pass on a few tricks of the trade here - but you also need to know the real rules for making it to the top. Like, how to tell a multiple F1 champion they need to check their blind spot. What the difference is between a helmet and a hat, and indeed a 'helmet-hat'. How to practise your champagne spray ahead of the big day.

Great Book - Great Narration
Revisado: 10-20-19
Jenson's second book is as interesting and entertaining as his autobiography. In "How to Be a. F1 Driver", JB offers the reader an inside look at the life and lifestyle of a modern F1 Driver. In addition to general insights such as the money, the glamour, and the lifestyle of an F1 driver, a massive amount of topics are touched on ranging from; the different systems and setups of the car, driving techniques, how race teams operate, crashing, and how to outperform a team mate, to air travel, fitness, and diet; with everything in-between. Jenson speaks in both general terms and anecdote-laden experiences spanning his racing career. This book is both compelling and a pleasurable read. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Formula 1 or racing in general.

Absolutely Phenomenal!
Revisado: 02-23-19
An absolutely phenomenal book. After "A Higher Call', and" Devotion", I was greatly anticipating this new work by Adam Makos. He more than delivered on my high expectations. Rarely is an author able to weave the annals of history in with a personal story while staying true to both. Makos does this seamlessly once again, delivering a magnificent and compelling narrative that is both heart warming and tragic at times.
Similar to "A Higher Call", two storylines converge into a climatic face-off. This time it is between an American tank gunner and his German counterpart. Through their stories, we learn the similarities and differences between their experiences leading up to and following the end of the war.
I've purchased and given several copies of "A Higher Call" to friends and family to read and experience. I will be doing the same with "Spearhead" as I look forward to the author's next installation.

Historia
When NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr., retired from professional stock car racing in 2017, he walked away from his career as a healthy man. But for years, he had worried that the worsening effects of multiple racing-related concussions would end not only his time on the track but his ability to live a full and happy life. Torn between a race-at-all-costs culture and the fear that something was terribly wrong, Earnhardt tried to pretend everything was fine, but the private notes about his escalating symptoms that he kept on his phone reveal a vicious cycle.

Eye Opening and Honest
Revisado: 10-19-18
This book was truly written from the heart. Dale Jr opens up about his struggles, both internal and external, as he battled concussion symptoms brought on by multiple hits suffered toward the latter part of his racing career. This book is very eye opening and honest. Dale tells his story in an effort to raise awareness of concussions, the associated symptoms and their impact on a person's life, as well as the avenues for seeking and receiving professional help and treatment. In this, he succeeds. I'm thankful that Dale Jr saught and received treatment and hope this book and his story will provide the information and inspiration for others with head injuries to do the same.

Historia
The Battle for Berlin was the culminating struggle of World War II in the European theater. The last offensive against Hitler’s Third Reich, it devastated one of Europe’s historic capitals and marked the final defeat of Nazi Germany. It was also one of the war’s bloodiest and most pivotal battles, whose outcome would shape international politics for decades to come.

Excellent and Authoritative Work of WWII History
Revisado: 06-07-18
A magnificent work of WWII History. I was familiar with Cornelius Ryan's work from citings by other historians, but The Last Battle is the first of his books that I've read. I now see why he is considered one of the authorities of WWII History in the European Theater. The story of the final weeks of war in Germany, as Ryan depicts it, is absolutely fascinating. The blend of compelling narrative with in-depth research (much of which resulting from first-hand interviews between the author and key figures in the engagement) results in an absorbing, authoritative work on the subject and its participants. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in WWII History, and an looking forward to reading the author's other books.

After all, avenging the death of his daughter is the perfect reason to kill. If he's as innocent as he claims, only one lawyer has what it takes to prove it: his friend and colleague Samantha Brinkman.

Another EXCELLENT book from Marcia Clark!
Revisado: 09-01-17
Marcia Clark doesn't disappoint with this 3rd installment of the Samantha Brinkman series. Her writing and story telling ranks right up there with the best in the Mystery/Thriller/Legal Drama genres. Great character and plot development. Sam Brinkman, while extremely likable, is a gritty, no-nonsense defense attorney with a passion for seeking the truth and defending her clients no matter how difficult (and sometimes dangerous) the task becomes. I highly recommend this book and this series. Also, check out Marcia Clark's "Rachel Knight" series. Both are excellent!
