Nowhere did I read about a cliff and the next book isn't even on the radar. I can't believe I spent 7 hours for a cliff. Anna is talented but by the time the next book is out I will have dust in my brain and will have to reread this book. This was entertaining but not Anna's best work. I will always read her works.

Not my LRJ favorite

Because I hate cliffs I waited to purchase this book until all three were out. It's not that I am impatient put it is that I always have books going and I have a problem getting back into the characters after too much time passes. I found the Bastard had too much fluff. I get frustrated when an author repeats the same thought over and over and over. Then in the next chapter the same mantra is again repeated. I have not really been frustrated by LRJ in the past but I can't help but feel that she wanted to make this book last for a series. It could have been a 5 start listen if it was condensed into 1 longer book and scrap the fluff and repeats. No question LRJ is talented. I have been a long time fan. I just couldn't spend another 2 credits and 12 or so hours to get to the end. I will not be finishing the series. The book did pickup in the end and had a great cliff.

Wow, feeling deceived. Another book in the series?

Would you listen to Deception again? Why?

No question that Aleatha is a tallented and creative writer. This will be my last book of hers if not a stand alone. I don't think authors realize that we read many books and by the time the next in a series comes out I have forgotten the pull for the plot and storyline. Often I may have several books that are incomplete due to a series. I understand this is a way of garning more income but it is not worth the break in the story to wait months or years for a next in the series. Also what is up with a 4th book? Really could not have been competed in 3?

What about Samantha Prescott and Brian Pallino ’s performance did you like?

Both are excellent performers.

An idea! if needed to garner more income why not release the series at the same time with serveral book? Still this series is not worth $40 if one is using credits.

Fun, well written but too expensive for cliffs

What did you love best about Shopping for a Billionaire?

No question that Julia Kent can write. Write well and with humorous overtones. She brings to life the details that add color to any story.

Any additional comments?

Julia needs to have one book for the Shopping for the Billionaire series. I feel I am being nickel-ed and dime to death. I would love to finish the series but only will pay for books 1 -3. Sorry Julia you are off my reading list.

What and Why this book? Warning Cliff ahead!

Would you try another book from Anna Zaires and/or Shirl Rae and Roberto Scarlato ?

Lets get this straight. I love Anna Zaires. Her dark twisted books have always been a vice I looked forward to. I was excited to get Bind Me, but now I am frustrated with not just Anna but many authors who seem to drag out their story which should be in one book, to what I believe is to bring in more dough. This book is a perfect example of stretching out the story. In doing so I believe she lost the intrigue that makes her books so enjoyable. I think it was filled with fluff (sex) and not suspense. Sex scenes were lacking the thrill of her other books. This book should have been part of book one and the ending in a book 2.

The narrators are excellent.

Why state a Stand Alone? We maybe fooled once...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It is a disapointment when we have been misled with a simple statment, stand alone. Lisa Renee we will still buy your books even without a cliff. The problem most authors don't realize is we are reading many books before the next comes out in a series and when there is a cliff we often can't remember the details for the next in line. Your books are enteraining but not enough to reread to get the details to throughly enjoy the next in the series. OK I maybe a minority here but I would have waited the year or two for the entire series to come out before I will buy a cliff.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I was intriged to see where Lisa would take this story. Ella has been mentioned and there was always the question of where and what happened to her. I feel the story was slow at the start and the conversations that took place in the short time between Kyden and Ella are a bit farflung. What underground kingpin will divulge the details in the short few days they knew each other. Really? She may have been married, deeply in love and the lust and trust in this situations was too unrealistic. Needless to say we still want to know what happens.

I am a Lisa Renee Jones fan just a bit disapointed.

I love but Hate Anna Zaires

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have loved Anna when I got ahold of her Twisted series. I just can't understand why she can't write a stand alone series. 5 hours for 1 credit and then a cliff. Really. Anna we will continue to buy the next in the series even if it is a stand alone. That aside I love her dark place she take her readers and I also like the references to her past books. Nicely done

What about Shirl Rae and Roberto Scarlato ’s performance did you like?

The best past of the performance was the Russian pronuciation of the last names. They both are experienced and a pleasure to listen to.

What disappointed you about Slow Burn?

I have enjoyed K. Bromberg's driven series books. So I decided to invest in the others. I have had a hard time getting through the story as the characters spend most of the book contemplating or in a self conversation. The book drags and I was constantly wondering when will this be over. I think the story line would be fine if there was an editor to cut half the book.

My 5 star rating in this driven series was Raced and also the first book Driven.

A rewrite of Leo

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I enjoyed Leo but felt it was missing the edge of many stories I enjoy. Meaning I could put the book down. After I read reviews of Leo's chance I was in the same story as Leo. I hate when authors try to write the counter point of view and end up with the same story. Take Note Autors please! If you are going to write in others pov please bring in information we have not already read.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Leo’s Chance?

The story could have been saved if it would have continued on from where Leo left off. It was interesting to read of the accident but then I felt I was wasiting my time rereading Leo.

A fun quick movining novel. Narrator Rosalyn Landor is one of my all time favorite. She can capitor the men as well as the women's voices and this adds another element to the story.
