Historia
The book draws its inspiration from stoicism, the ancient Greek philosophy of enduring pain or adversity with perseverance and resilience. Stoics focus on the things they can control, let go of everything else, and turn every new obstacle into an opportunity to get better, stronger, tougher. As Marcus Aurelius put it nearly 2000 years ago: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”

Great wisdom for real life!
Revisado: 08-19-24
Even if you don't fully subscribe to Stoicism, there are some great nuggets of wisdom in this book. Ryan himself reads it and his calm voice and clear passion for Stoicism makes it even more compelling. Give it a listen,

Historia
The Theft of America’s Soul is a prophetic wake-up call for all who desire to see our nation thrive, challenging listeners to exchange these 10 lies for truths that will bring peace of mind, harmony, and prosperity back to our country - an invitation to experience the life-giving, peace-filling, wholly-transforming love of God. Phil Robertson, patriarch of A&E’s Duck Dynasty and one of the most recognized voices of conservative Christianity in America, believes that little by little, America has allowed the lines of morality, decency, and virtue to be erased.

A Jesus loving river rat!
Revisado: 09-04-20
I just recently started watching Duck Dynasty and did not know of the Robertson's Christian faith, which is what led me to this book.
Phil is a genuine follower of Christ and in this book he breaks down the 10 main lies from Satan that he sees that Americans have been deceived by. Some of them are obvious but there are some you may not have thought of. Either way, they all make perfect sense and have biblical support. America has been deceived for many decades now culminating with the 1966 Time magazine question, "Is God dead?"
If you are a Christian and want to know the lies of the evil one that have led America to where we are today, this book is a great place to start. You will love Phil's godly, redneck wisdom! Even if you're not a Christian, this is still a good read and it may help clarify some misconceptions you have about the Christian faith.

Historia
What to do when they say they’re Christian but don’t know Jesus. Whether it’s the Christmas and Easter Christians or the faithful church attenders whose hearts are cold toward the Lord, we’ve all encountered cultural Christians. They’d check the Christian box on a survey, they’re fine with church, but the truth is, they’re far from God. So how do we bring Jesus to this overlooked mission field? The Unsaved Christian equips you to confront cultural Christianity with honesty, compassion, and grace, whether you’re doing it from the pulpit or the pews.

The story of so many...
Revisado: 10-03-19
I absolutely love this book! I recommend this to any Christian that is trying to reach a person who claims to be a Christian when they are clearly not saved. The author offers some very practical tips on how to minister to what is probably the largest mission field in the United States. listening to this book you will realize just how watered down the Gospel of Jesus Christ has become in America. listening to some of the examples of cultural Christianity that the author gives actually made me quite angry because it is nothing more than a mockery of the true gospel and Jesus Christ. And I also have in the past reached out to many cultural Christians that gives a similar reaction as the author describes where they dig their heels in, insist that they are fine, and that you're just more religious than they are. as the author says, only through patient, loving, and compassionate ministering and witnessing to a cultural Christian will be effective. there really is no magic formula. it's simply a matter of sharing from the Bible what the Bible actually says about salvation and evidence of saving faith and modeling the gospel by your words, attitudes, and behavior. as this book stresses, we must come from a place of humility when witnessing the cultural Christians. this book will greatly increase your understanding of this dilemma of christless Christianity and help you to be more effective in your efforts to win "unsaved Christians" to Christ.

Historia
With the story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

I loved this book! Very insightful on a much neglected Christian virtue, of which I am guilty of! I love when the book is read by the author. Mrs. Butterfield's story is very inspirational. I also recommend her first book, The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert.

Historia
Millions are satisfied to sit through hour-long, weekly religious services. Millions more have left the church, brokenhearted and cynical. But God is waking up his people - people who will risk everything and sacrifice anything to become the dynamic, powerful church seen in Scripture. We Are Church calls Christ-followers, young and old, to hold fast to their biblical roots while seeking radical change. Scripture promises an exuberant and unstoppable church. That wondrous early church of acts can be our reality today.

Very eye opening.
Revisado: 04-23-19
While I don't agree with everything Francis says in this book, I do agree with a lot of it. The modern day church, especially in America needs to go back to the basics. It's gotten too carried away with trying to please everybody and gain more attendees. People attending an hour long meeting on Sunday is not what the Lord had in mind for His church. It's supposed to be more than that. A closely knit family united for the glory of Christ, to do His work. Francis definitely hits the nail on the head with a lot of points in this book. While I don't think the house church model is always ideal in every circumstance, I believe the church would be a lot purer and stronger if it were more common. I recommend this book to any Christian that is tired of American Christianity and churchianity!
