Historia
In a sleepy seaside town in Maine, recently widowed Eveleth "Evvie" Drake rarely leaves her large, painfully empty house nearly a year after her husband’s death in a car crash. Everyone in town, even her best friend, Andy, thinks grief keeps her locked inside, and Evvie doesn’t correct them. Meanwhile, in New York City, Dean Tenney, former Major League pitcher and Andy’s childhood best friend, is wrestling with what miserable athletes living out their worst nightmares call the "yips": he can’t throw straight anymore, and, even worse, he can’t figure out why.

I related to the story
Revisado: 06-20-24
It was a lovely story but the use of the “F” word was over the top and unnecessary. It literally ruined the book for me.

Historia
With her new husband George busy on a special mission for the British Museum, Frances has taken on an assignment of her own. The dowager Viscountess Wingate needs someone to sponsor her niece, Kate, for presentation to Queen Victoria. Frances—who understands society’s quirks and constraints as only an outsider can—is the perfect candidate. Kate is charming and intelligent, though perhaps not quite as sheltered as she might first appear. More worrying to Frances is the viscountess’s sudden deterioration.

A clever believable mystery
Revisado: 01-09-24
I have been totally enchanted by this series. The characters are clever, believable, and witty. The heroine does not do stupid things as most mystery heroines do. The narrator is perfect and really captures the characters.

Historia
Though American by birth, Frances Wynn, the now-widowed Countess of Harleigh, has adapted admirably to the quirks and traditions of the British aristocracy. On August 12th, each year, otherwise known as the Glorious Twelfth, most members of the upper class retire to their country estates for grouse-shooting season. Frances has little interest in hunting - or birds or a second husband - and is expecting to spend a quiet few months in London with her almost-engaged sister, Lily, until the throng returns.

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-27-23
This story was so disappointing. Holly was so dumb because she would continue sleuthing even after she had 2 accidents. Evan, her boyfriend is great and tolerates her meddling into his case. If I were Even, I would get t rid of Holly. She doesn’t trust him to do his job, interferes in an investigation, and puts her friends at risk. I was so frustrated with her throughout the Book. I will not read another.

Historia
Summer 1923. Lady Eleanor Swift is finally persuaded by her butler, Clifford, to take a villa in the south of France for the season. She plans to do what a glamorous lady abroad should: long lunches on the balcony followed by lazy afternoons lounging by the pool. But when Clifford examines the wine cellar, he discovers there are no decent reds, but there is a very dead body. The victim is famous American movie-star Rex Armstrong. Poor Rex seems to have been stabbed with a sword from the film set. So how did he end up in Eleanor’s villa?

Great Story
Revisado: 02-16-19
The book is complex like the whisky of Abi Glen. The characters are rich and well developed. My only struggle is the fact that Grant and Abby can’t get on the same page. They should be together and working together, not apart.
