Historia
In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Brilliant performance from a brilliant man
Revisado: 07-30-15
Where does God Is Not Great rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The best, #1 I've heard.
What did you like best about this story?
It tears apart the illusions of power and religion.
What about Christopher Hitchens’s performance did you like?
His sardonic wit and amazing use of English.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me wish I hadn't been abused as a child with religion.
Any additional comments?
The people who don't like his reading either aren't used to English accents or need to hear a boring radio voice. The material is rich and requires listening and in some cases re-listening to have it sink in.

Historia
Young Stalin tells the story of an exceptional, charismatic, darkly turbulent young man born into obscurity, fancying himself a poet and a priest, and finally embracing revolutionary idealism as his Messianic mission in life. Equal parts scholar and terrorist, a mastermind of bank robberies, extortion, piracy, and murder, he was so impressive in his brutality that Lenin made him, along with Trotsky, his chief henchman.

Carefully researched ground breaking biography

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Offers a much deeper humanistic look into who Stalin was.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Stalin for his ability to change, agitate, manipulate and steal. He was a magician and brilliant actor and that isn't something that gets noticed, All is said is his atrocities and this book shows the talented human being behind the history.
What about James Adams’s performance did you like?
Solid, eloquent and engaging.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Too long for one sitting and also too rich, I am going to listen to that last few chapters during the revolution as I had fallen off and want to reengage with it.
