If you have ever consumed a mild dissociative and noted the percentage of your behavior that appears to be initiated outside of conscious intention, then this is the book for you my friend.

Very strong narrative, but lacks structural description of organization. would be cool to have an org chart and detailed map. Narrator is really good.

A general feeling.

This book gives less of a framework of the collapse, and more a sense or feeling of the emotion behind it.

Great Discussion, Prerequisites Required

Total

These were both excellent discussions of the challenges facing any organization pursuing nationbuilding.

Although I was familiar with the background in Afghanistan, I did not have a strong background in the Balkan conflicts.

I would advise before jumping into this book to do some background reading on both the Afghan conflict in the '00s and the Balkans in the '90s.

23 Things They Don't Tell You about Capitalism Audiolibro Por Ha-Joon Chang arte de portada

I liked the book. It was fascinating, and delved into topics I feel strongly about. But, somehow, it felt like a slog to get through.

Overall I don't regret listening to it.

Decent Overview of Big Ideas

Offered a thought-provoking overview of some of the big ideas in modern economic thought.

Maybe lacked some nuance regarding local political situations in trade discussion.

But, maybe that's a topic for another book entirely.

Good Overview and Context

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 04-11-18

This provided a great overview and context for the book as well as Rawls' second, which is at the moment the only one available on Audible. It doesn't go too deep in explaining the mechanics of Rawls' framework like a SparkNotes would, but it's a good jumping-off point for anyone interested in tackling A Theory of Justice.

One negative that I think must be related to Macat using this in their online courses is the titles that the narrator reads out at the beginning of every section/subsection. They probably make sense in the context of a syllabus or index, but are a little out of place in the audiobook.

Narrator was pretty legit.

Although this book does not offer a formula for becoming aware of, and interacting with ones own ego, Mark does certainly offer a compelling framework for approaching ones own relationship with oneself, and from there, the world.

This book provides a great overview of how the American legal system works, and explanation for why it sometimes appears to work in counterproductive or unjust ways.

The audio version throws a lot at the listener, and this book really demands your attention. I would highly recommend the audio version as a first run-through of the book to be followed by a more thorough reading of the text. By the second time, the whole thing should click into place.

Excellent overview of the man and his politics

Very detailed overview. Possibly a little too generous towards the man, or possibly the author assumes his actions were self-explanatory.
