Poor editing
Revisado: 08-19-21
The story was great, once again, but there were at least two glaring mistakes in the editing of this audio book. Once the narrator actually commented on her mistake and reread it correctly and another was a repeating of a phrase.

Editing is very poor.
Revisado: 10-14-20
The last sentence of one chapter and the beginning of the next were often seemingly done in one breath. A couple of times the last word was actually clipped by the announcement of the next. Also at least once, two sections of a chapter ran SO close together that I could figure out what was going on, since the second part was in a new location and in someone else's view. it was like they were trying to cut time wherever they could. Very irritating and unprofessional. Otherwise a great book.

Editing repeatedly messed up.
Revisado: 10-02-20
When the narrator announced the chapters, it was WAY too close to the end of the last sentence. Several times they even cut off the last word. This was a big and irritating mistake by editing and/or production that could have and should have not happened at all.

Hunter Armstrong sauntered back into my life unexpectedly, all lopsided grin, mischievous eyes and rugged determination. Not to mention a huge heart. He's nearly impossible to resist, but that's what I have to do as we follow the clues in a trail of love letters from a century ago. But with every new twist in the story, this treasure hunter seems to set his sights more firmly on reclaiming my heart.

Loved concept, but didn't like a couple of things.
Revisado: 05-31-20
I loved the concept of the story and how it was an unique storyline and twist. I did not like the foul language. it wasn't all over the place, so that helped, but I wish Hunter would not have said G... damn so much (or at all). It wouldn't have bothered me so much it it just dropped God's name and could have still said damn, where "needed"". I also didn't realize when I started book one that it wasn't all a self-contained story. Thankful they were on Audible Escapes and I didn't have to pay for each separately. I still gave it 5 stars, because it wasn't the same old story, it was a well thought out & executed plotline, and the performances were wonderful.

This is the best one of this series so far, IMHO. I laughed, cried, cringed at the characters' stubbornness, etc. Best ending, too.

Another Great Adventure for Shelby
Revisado: 07-20-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Most definitely! I actually recommend the whole series and to begin with the first book, Carrots, for the best experience.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed how this book shares a lot more of Ramos' backstory and how it expanded the circle of family (real and not).
What does Wendy Tremont King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Wendy Tremont King is wonderful. I could (and actually have while medically recovering) listen to her all day long. I have a few favorite narrators and she quickly rose to the top.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not as much as in a few of the previous books, but I did appreciate some of these story lines in this particular book more than in some others since it added a lot to the world of Shelby, Ramos, and Uncle Joey. The backstory of Ramos that is shared, the outcome, and the repercussions of events in his story were the most emotional to me. I truly want some love and happiness to come to Ramos really soon!
Any additional comments?
Other than the underlying formula used throughout this series of Shelby being asked to help, then getting into some major trouble, and finally being saved by Ramos (but all in a variety of ways/scenarios that I appreciate)... this book breaks away from that in both of the main story lines in this book for awhile and expands the character development quite a lot. This slowed it down a bit for me, but I was then rewarded with more "meat" to my current favorite series.I received a copy of this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. I have, however, purchased the previous 9 audiobooks as well as the first book also in Kindle form. I am definitely looking forward to book 11. I cannot wait to see where this story goes from here.

Historia
A pretty, popular teenager never returned from her secret tryst in Skeleton Canyon. Perhaps it was a youthful rage or savage passion that ripped the life from a child of privilege and abandoned her broken body to the cold Arizona night. Or maybe she stumbled onto something terrible, something too dangerous to know. Now dark secrets about a future hideously destroyed are pulling Sheriff Joanna Brady of Cochise County into a lethal nest of lies and greed.

Narrator's pace was amateurish.
Revisado: 12-12-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Skeleton Canyon to be better than the print version?
I haven't read this book in print.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Joanna Brady, of course! I love how she is a come from behind type of character who's methods are not always "textbook", but she always succeeds in the end. She is logical and shows her heart throughout the series. I also appreciate how she acknowledges that she is far from perfect, but doesn't let any of that really get in her way.
What three words best describe C. J. Critt’s performance?
Amateurish pacing throughout.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I REALLY want to see what happens with Angie and Dennis! I practically had a cow when I didn't know what was going to happen to Dennis. Talk about pulling my heart-strings....
Any additional comments?
During the beginning of the book, the narrator did not pause enough between sections when there was not a chapter break, Several times, she would just run right into a new part and I had to keep rewinding to figure out what was going on. For example: there was a part when they were working on a crime scene or going to it and then all of a sudden, Angie was thinking about her problem and trying to get a ride. THEN... it was like the narrator was told to pause more and all of a sudden she was even pausing in the middle of conversations for far too long. On at least three occasions, I started wondering if my battery went dead or something and then she continued. This was not the right pacing at all and seemed over-exaggerated by the narrator. I kept thinking that someone must have told her to pace it better and she over-exaggerated it in spite. Wasn't too impressed with her different character voices either, but that may be slightly because of her driving me crazy in general.

Revisado: 10-20-11
I loved listening to this audio book written/read by Carol Burnett and look forward to listening to it again and again.
I have had this for quite awhile and never felt like getting into it before, because I had listened to a VERY short bit back when I got it and felt it was quite boring. I had not listened much past the introduction and it wasn't "funny" (yet) like I had imagined and desired at the time. I obviously did not give it the chance it totally deserved.
"This Time Together" is like sitting in a room of a handful of friends listening to Carol Burnett chatting about her career, friendships with some fellow legendary stars we all know and love, as well as a few poignant times in her life. I was laughing most of the time, but also experienced a short time of all-out tears. It was worth the tears, however, to hear of the beautiful, yet heart-wrenching stories that let you see a bit of Carol Burnett's compassionate personality.
I truly enjoyed listening to Carol Burnett as she told her unforgettable stories. I strongly recommend this book in whatever form you can get your hands on.
