Historia
At the front of a middle-school classroom in Oklahoma, a boy named Khosrou (whom everyone calls "Daniel") stands, trying to tell a story. His story. But no one believes a word he says. To them he is a dark-skinned, hairy-armed boy with a big butt whose lunch smells funny; who makes things up and talks about poop too much.

Fellow Okie
Revisado: 10-25-23
I am a fellow Okie, this story must be completely true because pot lucks and bbq are exactly like this. this book made feel like the author really does want to be friends. it also struck me because, although I was born in Oklahoma we had some very similar experiences. We are the same age and I wish I would have known Daniel at age 6. We would have been best friends for sure. At the heart of all of this is a son's love for his mother and a mother's love for her son and God. It is a masterpiece.

Great dream and such a bargain
Revisado: 10-25-23
After the first chapter this book had me struggling, struggling to put it down! The authors tale told through the voice of Omar, or monkey is one that made feel like I was just another merchant in their caravan. it made me wish the characters were real and left me sad that they aren't in the end, or maybe they are.
