Historia
This is a story about young men who learned to play baseball during the 1930s and 1940s, and then went on to play for one of the most exciting major-league ball clubs ever fielded, the team that broke the color barrier with Jackie Robinson. It is a story by and about a sportswriter who grew up near Ebbets Field, and who had the good fortune in the 1950s to cover the Dodgers for the Herald Tribune. This is the story about what happened to the team when their glory days were behind them.

He was right about this being 2 books
Revisado: 07-30-20
I got this book on the recommendation of a friend as I am getting interested in baseball. After about three hours I started giving him crap. "This is a book about newspapers!" I started. My friend told me to give it time and the second half was an amazing heart warming and heart breaking follow up with the players of a historic team.
A credit to the author for following up for so many decades as his epilogues really bring closure to the whole saga of the Robinson era Dodgers. Or should I say the Reese era Dodgers. The author even stated he had complaints about this being two books, but both are damn fine.

Historia
As a prisoner of war, Andrew Jackson walked several miles barefoot across state lines while suffering from smallpox and a serious head wound received when he refused to polish the boots of the soldiers who had taken him captive. He was thirteen years old. A few decades later, he became the first popularly elected president and served the nation, pausing briefly only to beat a would-be assassin with a cane to within an inch of his life.

Great comedy book and introductory historical text
Revisado: 10-11-19
Daniel O'Brien was one of the major contributors to Cracked's video channel before they closed a few years back. If you liked him there like myself, this is a continuation of his wit and absurdist humor.
He even states in his conclusion this isn't a comprehensive text (how could it be with all the different presidents he covers) but definitely worth it.
N.B. He only covers dead presidents at the time of writing. If you are looking for tips on a Bush-Bush tag team cage match, you've come to the wrong book.

Historia
After a brief revival following World War I, during which it successfully defeated a Soviet attempt to invade in an effort to carry "international revolution" into Germany and Central Europe, Poland once again fell victim to its neighbors in 1939. Adolf Hitler's Third Reich and Josef Stalin's USSR collaborated in the conquest and then split Poland between them. The Germans instituted oppressive rule in their portion of Poland, executing some 7,000 people on political grounds and imprisoning thousands of others.

A great introductory work
Revisado: 01-29-19
Polish history in english is a rare thing. While the narrator was not well versed in the topic and mispronounced some words that were phonetically sounded earlier, the content was great and this was a perfect jumping off point to find out more about key figures and events. Definitely worth 4 hours of your time and a couple bucks.

A Standard Yahtzee Affair
Revisado: 04-27-18
Would you consider the audio edition of Differently Morphous to be better than the print version?
There is no print version
What did you like best about this story?
His stories have this blend of cutting satire, absurd situations but grounded characters and plot.
What does Yahtzee Croshaw bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This is an audible exclusive, but as with any book by Croshaw there is a definite attitude and intonation that his characters exude which I feel is lost when a 3rd party performs this kind of work.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. Especially in the second half. There is great pacing and with his presentation it provides a riveting course.
Any additional comments?
While it may be easy to politicize his work, this one exceptionally more than his other works; Yahtzee has a way of powering through the Straw-Man characters to have the main protagonists muddle through the issues in a manner wholly unique and reasonable to them.

From award-winning historian, war reporter, and author Damien Lewis ( Zero Six Bravo, Judy) comes the incredible true story of the top-secret "butcher-and-bolt" black ops units Prime Minister Winston Churchill assigned the task of stopping the unstoppable German war machine. Multiple voices can be a little jarring.
Revisado: 02-12-18
Great performance but so many people are quoted just once so it seems a little off and hurts the immersion. The voices are well executed and are as authentic as I could imagine but you just get into the rhythm with the narrator, you know?
