Not great
Revisado: 09-20-22
After the reset the story dragged. I kept loosing my place as I got bored listening. I’ve liked the rest so far but it appears the author attempted to descale the OP he gave the MC so it almost reads like a book 1 but with the mystery allready washed out of discovery a first book lends to keep interest while building the characters and world. I have bought the next novel but will listen to it after a different book. Maybe I’ve binged to many in a row. The narrator is good, not the best I’ve heard but by far better then most, but a good narrator can only compensate for a week story so much, and this was week. I gave the story 2 stars because I think I’m saturated with the series so I gave it one extra as the benefit of the doubt. Hope the next one is better

This is the second volume collecting all of best-selling author Larry Correia's short stories, novelettes, and novellas. Correia's novels are known for their hard-hitting, no-holds-barred action sequences, in-depth worldbuilding, and vivid characterization. Now, Correia turns to the short form to deliver stories that take no prisoner.

Both these anthologies have a lot of content already published and purchased. Hearing them again and having paid twice makes me angry. Lesson learned.

how do you know who's vegan at a party
Revisado: 04-25-21
don't worry they will tell you. like this book. none stop vegan talk about food. seriously, you get beat over the head with vegan recipes and virtue signaling. it was so annoying I quit listening. it appears the gargoyle was a plot devise to cook great vegan meals, and they go into detail repeatedly. the story could have been good but it was drowned in vegan preaching. even then narrator whom I heard on other books, could save this book. it's the equiveland of getting asked to a party and when you get there it's just baby pictures and vacation slide shows.

it's good , just don't binge listen
Revisado: 03-28-21
I like this series plot wise, and the harem classification and its popularty needs study by a psychologist. nevertheless it's still a great story.
Tess Irondale is one of those talented voice actors that make any story they are in better. one day I'm going to look up if she's ever been interviewed and talk about her range of sex noises. it makes me think about "when Harry met Sally".
in the tag line I mentioned binge listening. I often do it but I'll admit it takes something away. things you never notice when not bingeing but become annoying with over repetition. these book was like that because I didn't follow my own advise. So I'll be taking a break from the series and get the last book in a month or two and hopefully it brings back the "freshness " .
all that and i could have said it's a great series and i recomend it but to go with my hypocrisy I'm a big mouth..in writing

Luke Daniels is definitely in the top 5 of my favorite narrators. so far I'm getting into the series and just bought the next. if there is any flaws Luke's performance smooths them out. my only beef is the acceptance of the body less ^$% spoiler so read it.

Made the mistake and did not read its description
Revisado: 10-01-20
I’ll take responsibility in that I chose the book by its cover. I’ve read many series that are sci-fi fantasy romance novels and liked those that are a good story as well. This book was just to much. The story line had good potential and started well but it bogged down by to much internal dialog and a obvious romantic triangle. The Narrator was good. But the book was not for me

Christine Temetri is at her wits’ end. For years she’s covered the increasingly bizarre activities of End Times cults for the Banner, a religious news magazine. Yet Christine, who once dreamed of being a "real" writer, has nothing to show for the gig other than a regular paycheck and serious doubt that Armageddon will occur in time for her next deadline. But after a mysterious man entrusts her with a locked briefcase and orders to "take it to Mercury", Christine finds herself face-to-face with a ping-pong-playing angel by the name of Galileo Mercury.

had it all but didnt use it.
Revisado: 08-14-20
I was really interested after the first bit. it had demons, fallen Angel, and a down to earth angel that was half mystery half comic relief. the hill was there to climb, the foundation laid al ready to burst forth in comedy and drama drama. then their got washed away and we are left with a flat story ark an angel that never seems to go beyond clever quips and obscure reference jokes. it just failed to launch and fulfill the potential
the supernatural aspect was seemingly common place, Angel's a meh in excitment and mystery. no real drama or edge, seemed like a walk through to get to the end.
it wasn't all bad the humor was fine, Mercury was quippy and laid back, but to laid back. reminded me of a race between two elderly people on raskels as a chase scene..yawn. (Actually that sound awsome old people in death race 2000 souped up mobility scooters... hmm better copyright that 1st. anyway I still liked the book. hopefully it grows like the Dresden files since that series first book was rough but kept getting progressively better.
lastly the narrator was good. I dont think I've heard him before but with a little more prep and guidance he could be great

Hard to believe it’s the same Author
Revisado: 07-30-20
I don’t know if Hearn was under contract for one more Druid book but had nothing left, owed back taxes so pumped out a half assed money maker or got his hands caught in a bear trap and hired a Imagrint with a poor grasp of English but this was a terrible iron Druid conclusion, even Luke Danials couldn’t save this book and I have bought audiobooks based on him being the narrator alone. Frankly I weary buying another Hearn book. Let’s hope it was just a dead end and hope a fresh idea brings back the cleaver, Whitty faced action paced books I loved in the early Iron Druid books

good, more of the same
Revisado: 07-11-20
I am re, listening to the series since I found the next book is out, but I dont recall the story line as it's been a while since I last listened. as always the narrator is well done. there are very few narrators that can do men and women's voices and you cant tell if the narrator is Male or female. but I had a hard time pegging the females as voices by a Male. the story line is good but some what formulaic. with minor plot differences. I thinking I.binged the lost fleet.storiez I'd get annoyed that it feels like a cookie cutter series but I was listening to Jack Campbell books spaced out. that gives it time to forget enough that the book to seems new. I'd recommend it as an easy listen with enough space battle to keep it interesting
