Boring story, bad reader
Revisado: 01-14-25
This book took a long time to get through, it couldn’t keep my interest and the reader wasn’t very good either.

Terrible reader, maybe a bad storyline too?
Revisado: 06-07-24
I’m not sure if it was the abridgment, the reader, or a combination of both but I disliked this book. The story seemed really boring and just crawled along.

Revisado: 02-09-24
I never minded the Alex Delaware books set in California but listening to this one taking place on a pacific island was a nice change. The story was captivating and kept me looking forward to my next drive so I could listen more.

Good Story Line, just long
Revisado: 12-04-23
This book was an easy read and had an interesting plot. I feel it could have been much shorter though, there seemed to be lots of filler side stories going on to add unnecessary length.

A new patient, 24-year-old Lucy Lowell, has come to the semi-retired psychologist Alex Delaware, straight from the jury of a serial killer's grisly trial. Historia
Liz Rocher is coming home . . . reluctantly. As a Black woman, Liz doesn’t exactly have fond memories of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a predominantly white town. But her best friend is getting married, so she braces herself for a weekend of awkward, passive-aggressive reunions. Liz has grown, though; she can handle whatever awaits her. But on the night of the wedding, somewhere between dancing and dessert, the newlyweds’ daughter, Caroline, disappears—and the only thing left behind is a piece of white fabric covered in blood.

Only somewhat interesting
Revisado: 07-18-22
This storyline seems to be overused in films. The narrator was decent but lacked inflection. The only saving aspect of this book is the length; it ended before things became boring.

Revisado: 07-22-21
This just seemed to go and on and then abruptly end. The book was missing a lot of details I’ve come to like in Grisham novels (details of southern living, archeticture, etc).
