Historia
For thousands of years, the Chiss Ascendancy has been an island of calm, a center of power, and a beacon of integrity. It is led by the Nine Ruling Families, whose leadership stands as a bulwark of stability against the Chaos of the Unknown Regions. But that stability has been eroded by a cunning foe who winnows away trust and loyalty in equal measure. Bonds of fidelity have given way to lines of division among the families. Despite the efforts of the Expansionary Defense Fleet, the Ascendancy slips closer and closer to civil war.

Lots of “S”s

The Narrator puts so much emphasis on the letter “s” in all the words, it’s like listening to a story read by a snake.

Love it!
Revisado: 10-12-21
I love this story, i like listening to again and again. The only complaints i have is that im not there in Florida with Jessica and friends, where the pictures in my mind that the words of the author take me, and that Angela Landsbury herself isnt reading the story.
Five stars all around.

Boring.
Revisado: 09-18-21
I found it read in a boring, monotone manner. So much so that I don’t even know what the story is about. If War and Peace were read in this manner, even the author would find it dull, and trust me, War and Peace is heavy reading as it is. Wuthering Heights was more exciting than this.

Long and ponderous.
Revisado: 11-02-19
I found it long, heavy in every sense of the word, slow, over stuffed with details not giving enough time for my brain to absorb one scene before having to absorb the next. That said, the characters were accurately described, and the new ones adequately described. I found the ending annoyingly inconclusive. whether ther is a continuation of this narrative or not, i don't know, but im not really interested in finding out. I give it a C+ and cannot really reccomend it in my opinion according to my tastes. Others may find me totally in error in every aspect, and that's fine. this is merely my judgement.

Historia
Suspenseful, comic, and profoundly moving, the latest novel in Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City series follows one of literature's most beloved and indelible characters as she embarks on a road trip that will take her deep into her complicated past. Now 92, and committed to the notion of "leaving like a lady", Mrs. Madrigal has seemingly found peace with her "logical family" in San Francisco: her devoted caretaker, Jake Greenleaf; her former tenant Brian Hawkins and his daughter, Shawna; and Michael Tolliver and Mary Ann Singleton, who have known Anna for nearly four decades.

The days of Anna Madrigal
Revisado: 10-05-19
This book is so good that I listen to it over and over. It's not just the excellent narrow whom I am a fan of, but the story itself. I can see the characters in my head interacting with one another, and the world around them. That is what a well written book should do in my opinion. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
