Historia
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandment finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, becomes something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean the death of each of them. There’s still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win. That’s how war works, right?

Stunning
Revisado: 10-18-23
Once I got over trying to understand it, and just drifted along, it started to make occasional sense. Then it suddenly struck me just how beautifully the words were playing out before me. Eventually I began to grasp and follow the story. Well worth the initial confusion. Very unique and beautiful.

Fun horror story? Narrator makes it so!
Revisado: 03-20-21
Not a big horror story fan, but as I loved Stranger Things on Netflix, I thought I’d take a chance on The Tear Collector. Very entertaining story involving a bunch of jr high school kids facing what appears to be a supernatural evil. What makes the story come alive is the fantastic narration by Lou Petrella. He is at his best when telling the story through the eyes of the kids. Whether laughing and teasing or screaming in fear, Lou captures it all with great enthusiasm. Stephen King, hire Lou to narrate your next book!

Understanding our humanity - the essence of who we are - is one of the deepest mysteries and biggest challenges in modern science. Why do we have bad moods? Why are we capable of having such strange dreams? How can metaphors in our language hold such sway on our actions? As we learn more about the mechanisms of human behavior through evolutionary biology, neuroscience, anthropology, and other related fields, we're discovering just how intriguing the human species is.

Historia
Billy Crystal is 65, and he's not happy about it. With his trademark wit and heart, he outlines the absurdities and challenges that come with growing old, from insomnia to memory loss to leaving dinners with half your meal on your shirt. In humorous chapters like "Buying the Plot" and "Nodding Off," Crystal not only catalogues his physical gripes, but offers a road map to his 77 million fellow baby boomers who are arriving at this milestone age with him. He also looks back at the most powerful and memorable moments of his long and storied life.

Billy Crystal is a class act

Really fun to listen to. Billy Crystal has a million stories. I especially loved how his relationship with Muhammad Ali developed over the years and his many tales of getting parts, not getting parts and his love for his big Jewish family. Lovely book, well read!
