The first book good....the second...lost me.
Revisado: 11-11-19
I am now about 2/3 of the way into this book and have already got a refund for book #3 because I am pretty annoyed with how this one has become so unhealthy and repetitive. I took into account that these characters are young and do what many young people do, but knowing that I myself went through some of these things just made me feel...well not good. The first book was great and the start of this one held my interest for a while and I wanted to see if they evolved and got better...maybe they do in the other books forward but I just could not wade through anymore to see if it happened. The male narrator wasn't too bad at the start of the book but as he begins to try and do more female voices it does start to feel a little unpleasant to the ears.

The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I'd always envisioned. I'd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.

Glad I am not alone
Revisado: 01-21-16
Where does Stepmonster rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It list pretty high. Mainly because it pertains to my own life and what I am dealing with.
What did you like best about this story?
That I learned that I am not alone in what I feel and what I deal with as a stepmother. I don't even like to be called stepmother. I am way more comfortable being called a step-parent.
Which character – as performed by Cris Dukehart – was your favorite?
Not sure this matters for this book.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
That many woman feel the same way I do and that it is ok to not love or even like your stepchild(ren). You do have to be fair, responsible, and kind...which I am. I just don't have to feel bad that I don't have a bond or feelings for the child. Like the book says...you fell in love with the man. You did not fall in love with his children. Some get luck and can develop a bond and even love (maybe), but it is nice to know that it isn't as popular as society makes us think. Being a good parent is important. Having feelings for "said" child is not a requirement. It lifted a lot of pressure/guilt.
Any additional comments?
If you are a step-parent... especially a female and struggle with your feelings about your stepchildren....get this book. Good for men too who are in the same situation. If you can get your spouse to listen with you that is even better. It will help them understand better too.

Could not get past the narrator
Revisado: 11-17-14
What did you like best about The Atlantis Plague? What did you like least?
Just like in Riddle's book 1... He used Stephen Bel Davies as the narrator. I can't stand his voice. My mistake was purchasing both books at the same time before listening to the first one. Lesson learned.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
No idea. I could not get to the end.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
His voice.
Was The Atlantis Plague worth the listening time?
Not really I don't think I listen very long. I tried, hoping that maybe the narrator's voice would have been more tolerable in this book but it was not. He still sounded like a robot with a nasal problem.
Any additional comments?
get a different narrator.

Story had potential but the narrator was horrible
Revisado: 11-17-14
Would you try another book from A. G. Riddle and/or Stephen Bel Davies?
Not if Stephen Bel Davies narrated it. An audiobook is first and foremost an auditory experience. If you can't stand the sound of the narrator's voice, you can't get into the story. The description of the book looked appealing but as soon as I started to listen to it, I had a hard time. I tried to get through several chapters, but his voice just grated on me.
What did you like best about this story?
No idea since I could not get past the first few chapters because of the narrator's voice.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He sounds like a robot and nasally. It was not enjoyable to listen to. He was choppy and sometimes had a whine in his voice. I had to stop listening.
Do you think The Atlantis Gene needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No idea. I could not get through it.
Any additional comments?
Pick a different narrator.

Revisado: 10-01-12
What did you love best about Untamed?
It is a good series. Sometimes I get bored when a series last too long and it hasn't happened yet. I plan on reading book 5 soon.
What about Jenna Lamia’s performance did you like?
She did the characters well and her voice wasn't annoying.
Any additional comments?

Picking up where Bible expert Bart Ehrman's New York Times best seller, Misquoting Jesus, left off, Jesus, Interrupted addresses the larger issue of what the New Testament actually teaches...and it's not what most people think. This is the book that pastors, educators, and anyone interested in the Bible have been waiting for, a clear and compelling account of the central challenges we face when attempting to reconstruct the life and message of Jesus.

Ehrman did another great job!
Revisado: 06-16-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
yes, I enjoyed learning more about the historical information on the Bible. I think that anyone who takes the Bible literally, should read/listen to this book as well as his earlier book called, "Misquoting Jesus" I think it would open up their eyes a little bit. And that is something that they really NEED to do.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Jesus, Interrupted?
There were several...I really can't pick just one.
What about Jason Culp’s performance did you like?
Yes, he was a good narrator.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me feel good about my skepticism.
