Awesome resource.

This book is a wealth of information concerning how our brains work. I've enjoyed every moment (even the tedious and somewhat unnecessary chapter about the author's own libertarianism) and learned a lot. Highly recommended!

Historia
The Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, has been called "a night that changed the course of American culture". More than 70 million television viewers - the largest-ever audience for an entertainment show - watched the Beatles' performance that February 9, 1964. It was only the beginning. Had the Beatles been simply the most successful musical group of all time, their place in history would be secure. But they were much, much more. The Beatles changed popular culture forever.

A rather bland synopsis of Beatles history
Revisado: 09-22-21
The book is alright, perhaps, for a casual fan just getting into the band, but any serious fan will find nothing new here. It never does more than skim the surface of the extraordinary Beatles story. It is also full of historical errors, sone feel quite deliberate, to "clean up" the story and deliberately shy away from controversial points. 3/5

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Good book

Good sci-fi romp. A very enjoyable listen, a lot of fun. Lots of humor and a solid adventure. Doesn't try to be deep for no reason, and feels believable enough to be engaging. Recommended!

Historia
In February 1969, the Beatles began working on what became their final album together. Abbey Road introduced a number of new techniques and technologies to the Beatles' sound and included "Come Together", "Something", and "Here Comes the Sun", which all emerged as classics. Womack's colorful retelling of how this landmark album was written and recorded is a treat for fans of the Beatles. Solid State takes listeners back to 1969 and into EMI's Abbey Road Studios, which boasted an advanced solid state transistor mixing desk.

Good book, nice and detailed.

A fascinating look at the Beatles' last great work. Especially great for sound engineers like myself as it also touches on the technical side of the sessions. Also it's something to hold us Beatle fanatics over until the rest of Lewnson's opus comes :)

Historia
In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

The great hitchens is still unrivaled.
Revisado: 02-18-20
No other author I've read since had the ability to take apart religious dogmatism with such precision and directness. His reading is a bit rushed though, which makes it unclear in moments; but nothing that distracts from the contents.

I enjoyed Hank's writing, probably more than his brother's even. Nice sci-fi book, can't wait for the sequel.

Seth is indeed a great communicator, and this was a very enjoyable book. Both his personal story and broader outlook are equally well represented, and the fact that he's a professional radio host also marries that great content with a stellar narration experience.
