Not a fan at first, but ended up really liking it
Revisado: 02-25-20
When I first started listening I almost traded it in for a different book. I’m glad I kept listening, it ended up being really good.

Historia
Once again Michael Crichton gives us his trademark combination of page-turning suspense, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary research. State of Fear is a superb blend of edge-of-your-seat suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world.

You can hear the readers stomach gurgling a lot. If you like global warming lecturers & legal jargon you’ll like the book.
Revisado: 09-04-19
I definitely like Michael Crichton’s medical-ish books more then this law related one. If you like legal jargon & global warming you’ll love this. There is a LOT of lecturing going on throughout the entire book. The author is beyond intelligent & I definitely feel more open minded after reading this, but I will admit the first half of the book started to bore me. I was going to give it 3 stars, but once they hit Antarctica mid way through & the action began I was definitely back into the book & I increased my rating to 4 stars. ;)
The reader was good, but I could often hear his stomach grumbling throughout the ENTIRE book. I could also hear him swallowing & saliva sounds.... so heads up on that as well.

Didn’t get “attached” to the characters. Good storyline, but didn’t care if characters lived or died. Just ok w/ good ending

Revisado: 08-07-19
Not enough action for me to love it. It took until the end for me to actually get really into it. Trying to decide if I should read the next book or not. The setting and the story line were good, but the characters kind of fell a little flat for me. Not awful, but I wasn’t sad when a character died. I feel like a really good book will make you feel attached to characters and care about them & get mad with them, even though they obviously aren’t real. This book didn’t do that for me. Wondering if book 2 will be better or same as the first?

Not a gamer and still loved it!
Revisado: 11-14-18
I am NOT a gamer & I’m in my 30s. Lol I needed a book to listen to while driving on a road trip. I was hesitant to get this book. It ended up being great! The movie is for teens & was terrible.(my kids liked it though) I’d definitely recommend the book. Being born in the 80s & listening to this book was fun.
On occasion the author goes on & on about games & levels and I started to zone out, but that was few & far between & I assume the reader may need that knowledge to understand the next step.
The book was fast paced & fun. I did enjoy it. ...Couldn’t put it down... & would recommend even if you’re not a gamer. ;)
