All Dag Gates wants is a place to call home. (And to practice magic freely.) All Stefan Bjorne wants is peace in his adoptive country. (And less paperwork.) All Mikkel Vinters wants is both of them. (No, really, he could do wedding bells.) So why, pray tell, is half the magical community set on denying them all their wishes?

Historia
Kindergarten teacher Spenser Harris has carved a quiet, stable future out of his tumultuous past, but his world turns upside down the night a homeless teen appears on his doorstep - a boy whose story mirrors the one Spenser has worked so hard to overcome. The decision to shelter Duon is easy. What's tricky is juggling the network of caregivers in Duon's life, especially TomAs Jimenez.

Sublime... Love and Social Justice
Revisado: 01-17-24
The story of Tomas, Spencer, and Duon is more than a HEA is a story that sublimely wove real life events and characters facing the challenges. I recommend reading all of Heidi Cullinan's books, but this one I've read several times and I'm moved each time. Iggy Toma is magical in bringing these characters and their stories to life.
Thank you both for making the story more and for bringing LGBT people of colour to life.

Sometimes love is where you least expect it, and sometimes it's right where you left it in this witty, slow burn-to-steamy friends-to-lovers MM romance. Widower, Max Hartwell, is barely keeping it together, being a single dad, managing his law firm, and navigating life's chaos. Life after loss is too difficult for surprises, which is why Max would be lost without his reliable best friend and neighbor, Jack.

Irresponsible Writing,
Revisado: 12-12-23
I truly love Iggy Toma's narrations and Alexander Cendese is a new favorite, but they could not save this book.
I was doing well with the book, having a lot of compassion for the characters as they found their way of working through the factors that were keeping them apart. However, my heart broke when the author decided to reveal their relationship in the most callous and hurtful ways. Unnecessarily hurtful for the characters and the readers. There were so many ways to be LGBT positive and reveal the relationship than the way it was done and allowed the characters to keep their dignity. Where were the editors, the protectors of people's dignity? I will NEVER read your books again. Though I am one reader, I read over 100 books a year. I will NEVER recommend your books to others.

How did Eve Dallas get reduced to what she wears?
Revisado: 02-16-19
I have read all 48 novels about Eve Dallas and some I loved, some were more challenging. Survivor In Death, will always be my favorite.
This time is the first time I wrote a review and I am sorry it has to be a poor review.
This book had some many possibilities to develop into a fully realized book and yet it did not. There was the newest project, there was the new doctor, Crack finally found a lady love and yet the book took the focus from these wonderful opportunities to focus on a level of crime which was not believable that Eve could conquer. Furthermore, the cast of criminals were not believable, because the plot did not have a proper focus.
The thing that I found most offensive, and its a pattern that has been going on for several books, was how much the main characters were reduced to their wardrobe, not what they did, nor how they were experiencing their world. I did no feel like this book was an invitation to enter the world of Eve Dallas, but to hurry up and get away.
Regardless of Susan's good performance, she could not save the book and she too has to get a poor rating.
Please give Dallas back her depth.

Historia
The Great Recession has shuffled Clay Jannon out of his life as a San Francisco Web-design drone - and serendipity, sheer curiosity, and the ability to climb a ladder like a monkey has landed him a new gig working the night shift at Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. But after just a few days on the job, Clay begins to realize that this store is even more curious than the name suggests. There are only a few customers, but they come in repeatedly and never seem to actually buy anything....

The Narrator Could Not Save it
Revisado: 02-06-19
I read this book, for a book club, and the premise of reading a book about fellow readers, enjoying a book store, was something I'd hope to enjoy. The plot did not developed in ways that invited the reader to relate to the characters, and reading a book without connection and compassion for the characters was not enjoyable. I'll definitely keep listening to the Ari's work and I am willing to look out for something new by the author.

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

I wanted to like this book...
Revisado: 06-02-18
However, it was not well done. The performances were choppy, which reflected the writing. This story felt like it could have gone in many directions and with depth, but that was not accomplished.
When reading books for my book club, as was the case with this book, I like to recommend the author for possible future reads. I am willing to try another.
