The script wasn't perfect (anachronistic), but the performances were. I dearly love mashups, and this added a dash of Dickens' works to just the right flavor.

What made the experience of listening to The Graveyard Book the most enjoyable?

Hearing the material in the author's own voice. Nobody is more intimately familiar with the characters or the role each plays.

What other book might you compare The Graveyard Book to and why?

I don't read much, but this stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Tim Burton films like Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Humor thrives in the darkness.

Which character – as performed by Neil Gaiman – was your favorite?

The Poet. Only an Englishman can create and recite a more stereotypically rubbish English poet, and get away with it so convincingly.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! By the mid-point in the story, I had a hard time prying myself away.

Any additional comments?

The epitaphs made me laugh out loud.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ender's Shadow to be better than the print version?

I don't read novels in print.

What did you like best about this story?

Bean's character felt important in Ender's Game, but we didn't know anything about him. This book fleshes out his character, and shows -how- he balances Ender in the fight against the Buggers.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

We'll find out on November 1st, 2013, won't we?

Any additional comments?

If you enjoyed Ender's Game, this is a must-read. I haven't read the rest of the Ender's Game series, but I will probably continue on the Shadow series' path.

Would you try another book from Stephen King and/or George Guidall?

George Guidall gave an excellent performance. Stephen King's story in this book was not compelling enough to proceed with the Dark Tower saga. The most interesting part of the book was in a single conversation, nearly the end, separated from a good start by a sea of drudgery in the middle. I'm especially bothered by the sex in the book; though necessary to the story, it felt like it was written by somebody who never had a relationship with a sexual component.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stephen King again?

I will try his other story types, but The Dark Tower is a universe I won't revisit.

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first Guidall narration. His use of tone and voice and pacing were quite enjoyable. If the performance hadn't been excellent, I would have stopped listening in the middle of the story instead of finishing it.

Could you see The Gunslinger being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Probably, but I didn't feel enough of a connection with the characters to find a popular face that would fit the personalities. Maybe Clint Howard as the Dweller.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Sign of Four to be better than the print version?

I have not read the book, but Prebble's use of accent, inflection, and cadence make it easy to believe that he is speaking different parts, and never once did I have to wonder which part he was voicing.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Doyle was a genius in that he could conceive a sequence of events that would create a set of circumstances and leave a set of evidence that average people would never string together.

Have you listened to any of Simon Prebble’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have also listened to Prebble's readings of The Study in Scarlet and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. This is no less excellent than the other novel or collection of short stories.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At the end, I was moved to seek out more Prebble readings of Doyle work. :)
