The dreary relentlessly dysphoric atmosphere of the entire novel.
Revisado: 03-13-25
I disliked the flat emptiness of the main character and the predictably horrifying sequence of events as the story unfolded. He kept wondering if he was going mad. I began to wonder that about myself! Why do I keep reading this book? I encourage you to skip the experience.

Magic
Revisado: 02-17-21
I listened to this audible version of Jacob Nordby’s new book and was mesmerized. I could not turn it off! The challenge to experience my own creativity and, in so doing, be cured of lethargy and mediocrity, was magical. I was challenged and inspired. Projects that I had put aside came to mind. I literally felt energized! The author’s narration was a gift! I highly recommend this remarkable book.

He risks fraud to save his terminally ill infant grandson, matches wits with a renegade insurance investigator, is drawn into an act of savage violence, and falls deeply, excitingly in love with a young cellist who is a third his age.

A Surprising Book
Revisado: 01-05-16
Dean Koontz does some deep digging in this disturbing and enchanting story. He puts an extraordinary spin on the genre of "psychological thriller". I was taken on a surprising journey. As a psychologist I was impressed with his depth of knowledge of both cognitive and creative psychology. A brilliant job of writing.
