Historia
A continuation of Homer’s epic poem, Kazantzakis’s own Odyssey finds Odysseus once again leaving Ithaca on finding that the satisfactions of home and hearth are not as he remembered them. Following an encounter with the former Helen of Troy (now returned to her husband, the king of Sparta, after the ignominious defeat of the Trojans), Odysseus gradually wends his way to Egypt and southward, grappling all the while with questions about the nature of God.

The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel" by Nikos Kazantzakis is an extraordinary continuation of Homer's epic. Kazantzakis breathes new life into Odysseus, taking him on a journey filled with philosophical depth and poetic beauty. The narrative's blend of ancient myth with modern introspection makes for a compelling read, expanding the original story in ways that are both profound and enlightening. A must-read for anyone who loves epic tales and philosophical exploration in the beautiful writing style of Nikos Kazantzakis.

Historia
One of the foremost achievements in Western literature, Homer's Iliad tells the story of the darkest episode in the Trojan War. At its centre is Achilles, the greatest warrior-champion of the Greeks, and his refusal to fight after being humiliated by his leader, Agamemnon. But when the Trojan Hector kills Achilles' close friend Patroclus, he storms back into battle to take revenge - although knowing this will ensure his own early death.

Western civilizations grand epic myth
Revisado: 09-23-24
The Iliad was meant to be spoken, so listen to it ~ E. Musk. Thus narrated version brings all the ancient characters to life. It is amazing that such a beautiful epic story story of battle, violence and victory was written 2,800 years ago.

Historia
Spread through the public in the form of popular stories, ideas can go viral and move markets - whether it's the belief that tech stocks can only go up or that housing prices never fall. Whether true or false, stories like these - transmitted by word of mouth, by the news media, and increasingly by social media - drive the economy by driving our decisions about how and where to invest, how much to spend and save, and more. But despite the obvious importance of such stories, most economists have paid little attention to them. Narrative Economics sets out to change that.

Obnoxious British pretentious narrator
Revisado: 09-09-20
You're going to hate listening to this audiobook. you're going to deal with technical economic issues which is fine, but then to add an obnoxious pretentious British voice as the narrator is a calamity. I couldn't enjoy the book because I had to translate the British accent which took an inordinate amount of brain power. I can't tell you if the book is good or bad just that listening to it is extremely annoying.

Brilliant and fun
Revisado: 05-09-17
This book is a wonderful journey through the life of Ed Thorp, with a handful unique takeaways. He suggests comparing decisions to money, time and happiness. I'm a math, science and finance geek so I loved his journeys. I'm also going to play around with card counting and try to apply the Kelly criterion to my finances. Cheers!!! John H
