i can't decide if I hate the book itself or just..

the narrator. Her voice is pleasant enough but there's something... maybe the tempo. Anyway. The whole thing is kind of meh.

I originally purchased the hardcover of becoming when it was first released and read it twice. Michelle Obama's ability to transport you into her world, into her life, is impeccable. You live through her childhood in Chicago, you fall in love with her family members and her friends, and you lose your heart to her eventual husband, Barack Obama just as she did. After reading the hardcover twice, I ordered the audio version when I found out she was the narrator. I cannot recommend highly enough the audiobook version of this book. hearing Michelle read her own book, you feel every emotion poured into it. You feel her genuine empathy for the American people, her love of children all around the world, and how much her entire family cares about and loves this country. There are many mansions of individuals, every single one who deserves to be remembered. There are memories with sweet and bitter, and I grew to love the Obama family more than I already did through this book. absolutely recommend, in every format you can consume.
