Historia
Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Amazing Novel, Terrible Audiobook
Revisado: 10-06-21
I have read Dune 5 or 6 times and it is one of my favorite books ever. I decided with a new movie coming out soon I should refresh my memory since it has been a few years since I last read it.
I was extremely disappointed with this audiobook. The narration is sloppy, damn sloppy. I do not understand why instead of just having one single narrator, they decided to have several read different voices. That would be acceptable if it was consistent through the entire book, which it was not.
For example one chapter the dialogue by The Lady Jessica was voiced by a female narrator, but then the very next chapter it was voiced by a main narrator who is a male. It was extremely distracting. Either have one single narrator read every part, or multiple narrators read the dialogue. Just make sure it is consistent throughout the entire book.
I have listened to a few hundred audiobooks in the last few years and none of them were such a jumble.

Historia
The 15th century was a pivotal era for Europe, during which it transitioned from a social and religious union under Christendom into a disparate collection of nation-states, and it was during this period that the Middle Ages came to an end and the Modern Period began. Less than a century earlier, in the mid-14th century, the Vatican called upon England and sought financial aid in the hopes of boosting papal defenses against French forces

Interesting
Revisado: 04-26-21
It was interesting to learn about this little known era of European history. However I immediately began to question its accuracy when in the first five minutes it is said that Jan Hus helped plant potatoes, nearly a hundred and fifty years before their introduction in Europe.

Not as good as The Witcher books, but still a decent story. I look forward to the next two books in the series

Cool it with the social commentary
Revisado: 12-04-20
I feel that the author added lots of social commentary for absolutely no reason. Social commentary is great if it actually drives the plot along, but in this case it does not. It seems like he added a lot of unnecessary comments to show how inclusive and woke he is. Revealing that a character is trans is great but only if it makes sense. Except this author seem to add the fact a character is trans just because he wanted to show off the fact he has a trans character
