A Short History of Myth Audiolibro Por Karen Armstrong arte de portada

Short & Sweet

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 12-27-08

As usual, Karen Armstrong delivers the goods as she explains how humankind's beliefs in the gods have changed as his way of life shifted, while the need to believe persists throughout history. I specially liked that although she used to be a Catholic nun she does not moralize or make a case for monotheism vs polytheism.

Jung's model of the psyche in a nutshell. Tha author does a good job at explaining the key concepts of analytical psychology and gives a short step by step account of how to go abaout making sense of your mind's night time creations.

Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive

Given Campbell's wealth of knowledge I expected this recording to be more insightful but Toms and Campbell kept going back to the same questions and answers (the Black Elk example is used no less than 3 times)so that by the end you get the feeling you've been listening to an old scratched record.
