Not sure if this wasn't good or just not my cup of tea. the writing wasn't bad but in all honesty I disliked both main characters. the FMC is overbarring and controlling the MMC is flaky and puts others in front of a person he loves/likes. I kept hoping the fmc would realize she needs therapy, walk away from the mmc and get her own eat pray love moment. there were no funny scenes like I expected, since I was so frustrated with everything else. the voice actor was great.

More of a political commentary, then sci-fi

I have read/listened to every book rick partlow has written. he is a good writer, but this book was so busy taking our current political issues and cramming it into the story line, that it forgot it was a sci-fi novel. It was a very thinly vailed political commentary that pulled me out of the story over and over again. by the end, you will have no doubt about which political party he supports. I'm just disappointed, It ruined this book for me.

the writing is strong, narrator does a great job, but it's 1/3 of a novel. I hate when authors do this, just to milk more money from their readers. it's hard because this is a good story but ugh not a complete story.

annoying characters

I struggled with this audio book, because I just disliked most of the characters. everytime a character was given a choice they always made the wrong one. the main character only survived by dumb luck. the preformer (reader) who read the book was the only part that made thos book bearable.

annoying main female character

the preformer was good, yes the female was a bit high pitch but that didn't bother me. the frustrating part was thesin leading female, she was annoying and was the cause of all the issues. about half way through the book I found myself skipping areas because she was so annoying.

**Trigger warning for those that struggle with the depiction of rape, that is most of what the story was for the first 1/3 of the book***
I only was able to get through 1/3 of the book before I gave up. so far the was a brief hint of zombies and talk about zombies but this is not really a zombie story. most of what I read is about Raping children and women but mostly children. it made me sick to my stomach and I just can't go any further in this story. the main character is annoying, and plain stupid.
that being said the narrator is excellent.

Not my cup of tea, not bad but not my style.

I am strongly pro-vax, but even I became frustrated and bored with this book. most of it was one long lecture about the dangers of antivax people ( which I do agree with), but there was huge parts of the story missing or big jumps in the time line with no reasoning as to how or why things happened. I prefer to read/hear about the action as it happens, I dislike it when the author just tells us about what happened afterward.
