Best AoS Vampire Character and Narrative
Revisado: 08-28-22
Non-Spoiler mostly gushing. I’d tell you all it’s a great read with amazing pacing! The intense moments are incredibly so and the more human moments feel sincere. I love that we seem to have an amazing and interesting anti-hero for the vampires/Soulblight and I will definitely be impatiently waiting for any further stories with The Hollow King. Couldn’t stop until it was over it was so damn good seriously folks.

Historia
Following the tragic death of his son many centuries ago, the cruel Vulture Lord, King Zothar Athrabis, made a terrible bargain with Nagash to preserve his child’s soul. Now, once every 10 years, the new champion of the Games must become host to the boy’s tormented spirit, while the old vessel is condemned to death. Most citizens of Lament deem this a great honour, but when the city’s newly crowned champion, Lycus, is taken by the king to raise as his own, his family question their sacrifice.

I loved the whole story and I think it’s a must read moving forward for anyone getting into AoS and especially into the Death Grand Alliance.

Historia
War makes for strange alliances - and so it is for the free city of the Colonnade, which must turn to the Mother of Nightmares and her dynasty of monsters to defend themselves against the hordes of Chaos. The Colonnade, a free city, is the jewel of Ghur, obsessed with purity in a realm of bestial savagery. But now, it faces annihilation at the hands of an unstoppable beastherd. In a desperate gamble, Councillor Atella Reigehren requests the aid of a being anathema to the Colonnade. She seeks Lauka Vai, the Mother of Nightmares, and her dynasty of monsters, the Avengorii.

If you haven’t yet gotten into AoS novels than you should!
Revisado: 03-23-22
This was an excellent presentation by the VA and the author. I have always enjoyed the undead aesthetic going back to WHFB, and I wasn’t initially sold on these new vampires…but this book has sold me on the lore and personal motivations of the Avengorii..to the point that by the end I very much thought we were the monsters comparatively. Excellent read/listen and I would definitely suggest it to any new/or old hobbyist/lore master.
