Kind of a disappointment after the first volume

After the first book I need this series, I was really excited to hear more. The second volume wasn't as good as the first and they've gone down hill from there for me; lacking substance and interesting story lines.

If you could sum up Kage in three words, what would they be?

What a ride! This was a fabulously written and narrated story. This is THE book ( & trilogy) that other books in the genre will be measured by. It is an intense, gritty, sexy, hot read, with plenty of substance that will keep you entangled for from beginning to end. There is a bit of a startling cliff hanger... but it just adds to the intensity of this book so be prepared.

What did you like best about this story?

I listened to these books twice in a week, I liked them that well. I needed to make sure that I didn't miss anything. I love how the author really nailed the complexity and intensity of their relationship. Not a fluffy predictable read.

What about J. F. Harding’s performance did you like?

He performed all of the voices very well, he didn't just read the words; He really brought everyone to life!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Awful narration, mispronounced words and obvious lack of proof reading ruined this book. Improvement of any of these would have done wonders to improve this listen! It is read at such a slow rate, you have to adjust up to at least 1.25. The story wasn't totally bad but could have definitely been polished into a better read.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Nothing really, its pretty vanilla and predictable

Would you be willing to try another one of Christopher Rain’s performances?

Extreme disappointing Listen

What would have made Fret better?

Wasn't much in the way of content to keep anyone awake let alone interested; Unless it comes all at once in the last half. Its a short listen and I couldn't even make it though half. There was just something missing.

Has Fret turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.. There are some very good books in this Genre and once you have listened to one of the newest, greatest trilogies on Audible in this Genre you will see that the bar has now been set very high.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Klaus von Hohenloe?

I'm not sure that Sabastian York could have even saved this book.
