Historia
Sami Kierce, a young college grad backpacking in Spain with friends, wakes up one morning, covered in blood. There’s a knife in his hand. Beside him, the body of his girlfriend. Anna. Dead. He doesn’t know what happened. His screams drown out his thoughts—and then he runs. Twenty-two years later, Kierce, now a private investigator, is a new father who’s working off his debts by doing low level surveillance jobs and teaching wannabe sleuths at a night school in New York City. One evening, he recognizes a familiar face at the back of the classroom. Anna.

So glad I kept listening!!!
Revisado: 05-01-25
Harlan Coben does it again. I do not know how he comes up with so many unique scenarios, enjoyable characters, and unexpected twists but he does.
In Nobody’s Fool he has multiple twists and interlocking stories. At first I felt the story was a little slow and the multitude of storylines confusing. I considered returning it and getting another one. I’m so glad I didn’t. Questions kept hooking me and drawing slowly on. The more I listened that more I started to understand. I even thought I had figured out a few endings but boy was I wrong. The actual ending was so great!!

No one survived the last battle unscathed. Flint is angry at the world, Jaxon is turning into something I don't recognize, and Hudson has put up a wall I'm not sure I'll ever break through. Now war is coming, and we're not ready. We're going to need an army to have any hope of winning. But first, there are questions about my ancestors that need answers. Answers that might just reveal who the real monster is among us. And that's saying something in a world filled with bloodthirsty vampires, immortal gargoyles, and an ancient battle between two gods.

Great ending!
Revisado: 04-01-25
Finally an author who ties off all her strings. Loved the ending. Very satisfying.
This was my first time reading this author and I will read more. Without providing any spoilers, let me say that this series was just the right mix of action, humor, and drama. The characters were fully rounded and enjoyable. The antagonists were not easily defeated. I hate it when the dilemmas are too easily overcome. There were some good twists in the end that kept me questioning how the good guys would win! I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

I LOVE these characters PLEASE give us more!!!
Revisado: 03-09-25
I so fell in love with all these characters. Wilde the genius woodsman with a huge heart and a quiet determination to put things right. Hester,, the tough, elderly lawyer who should never be underestimated. She stands up for her clients and her family with the temper of a mother bear, the wily cunning of a fox, and the snarky hilarious personality that we love from New Yorkers. I could go on and on... the beautiful, understanding widow, the stalwart, protective policeman, the clever tough multi-tasking foster sister..... They were all great. In typical Cobin manner, they are all well-rounded, integral parts of the story.
Yes, as some reviewers pointed out there were strings at the end but I knew this was a series. The strings were a joyous reminder that although this plot was beautifully complete there was more to come.
I'm ready to dive into the second book and hopefully more books in this series. Jump on in! You're going to love it.

Great world building, ok read
Revisado: 09-20-24
It was an interesting world, fairly good narration, and likable characters but the problems were solved too easily. I really liked how it was solved but the overall story had areas that should have been edited down and replaced with more action. Some good fight scenes or other suspenseful aspects. A little too boring.

Good idea but too much telling instead of showing
Revisado: 05-14-23
From the description I expected a suspenseful story but I got mediocre. Great plot idea but instead of showing the settings and characters and letting me experience the action, I got a lot of she felt, he felt, they ran from the bomb. Still don’t know if it went off or not? The ending also left an important conflict unresolved. I’m assuming the rest of the story is in another book but I’m not motivated to look for it. Which is too bad because this story had great potential.

You go Girls!!! I love it!
Revisado: 11-03-22
This was an amazing story. I loved the multiple romances, amazing friendships, and fascinating characters. It was so nice having older heroines. Well-written and just a joy to experience. The narrator did a good job on everyone except the New Yorker accents. Being raised in NY I could tell but it wasn’t so bad that it ruined the story. I’m so glad I bought this book and will be reading more form this author. I highly recommend it.

More angst than action
Revisado: 08-30-22
Reader did a good job but the story was too much back flash bad life info with the actual action just being used to confirm the back flash instead of being the actual story. I really liked the world building idea but it remains a background prop instead of being the story. For me it had potential that was never fully developed. I won’t go on with the series.

A summer at his grandparents' South Dakota ranch is not 11-year-old Cooper Sullivan's idea of a good time. But things are a bit more bearable now that he's discovered the neighbor girl, Lil Chance, and her homemade batting cage. Even horseback riding isn't as awful as Coop thought it would be. My favorite NR book!
Revisado: 02-21-22
Great suspense throughput which is often missing in NR books. Usually ,For me, NR is a great writer but a little slow paced. I need action and suspense and Black Hills has it. The bad guy is a serial killer using his native Indian heritage as an excuse. Their is the mystery of who he could be. There are two really cool main characters which stay true to there upbringing. There is danger and an equal sharing of who fights the danger instead of one character always protecting the other. Their is a great setting. An animal preserve with a super cool cougar who does his part in bringing about justice. Their are many levels of love addressed in this story- parental, job, animal, self- on top of the regular romance. In my opinion, this is a great story!

There are three rules in Black River Falls: Don’t break curfew unless you want the monsters to find you. Don’t ask questions, no matter what. And when someone goes missing, don’t go looking. Joey Barnes obeyed those rules, until the day her mother vanished without a trace. She’s spent two years secretly hunting for clues, and she’s discovered plenty of things that don’t make sense, even for Black River Falls.

Great story for any age!!!
Revisado: 02-20-22
Wow I am so impressed at this story. Excellent characters, wonderfully original plot, suspense and story woven well together. The last few adult stories haven’t kept me as riveted as this one has. It is a kids story so of course the kids are the heroes but it is a very well written kids book that any age can enjoy. I will definitely be looking up this author and checking out any adult stories she’s written.
