Sara battles to save a broken young woman who’s been brutally attacked. But as the investigation progresses, led by GBI Special Agent Will Trent, it becomes clear that Dani Cooper’s assault is uncannily linked to Sara’s.

Loved the story
Revisado: 03-25-25
Another great story in the will Trent series. Loved every minute of it.
My only complaint regards the narration. Given that one listens to an audiobook in order to be able to do other things while they’re listening, it’s super frustrating to have such variation in tone and volume of the narration. If you have to stop and rewind so you can hear the whispering, then it takes away from the experience of listening to the book. In the same token, “shouting” should not actually hurt your ears. But since I turned the volume up to hear the whispering, then the shouting was too loud. I always give this feedback when the narration is like this, I hope others do too. That way, audio engineers will someday take notice.

It was good
Revisado: 02-11-25
Honestly, it wasn’t very thrillery but it somehow managed to still keep my attention throughout the whole book to find out who the killer was. Bronson Pinchot did an excellent job, as always.

Historia
By the time playwright and actor Shawn Frost had won two Tony Awards by his late 20s, he was seen as a theater prodigy—a meteoric rise that the performing arts community had not witnessed in almost a hundred years. His work? Shakespearean in scope, character, and popularity—boundless and beautiful. His own character? Flawed. And in a place like New York City, where failings get magnified, Shawn Frost finds that, even from the heights of artistic sublimity, no one is insulated from the demons that have caused the best of entertainers to fall from grace.

There’s was a little too much self reflection and artist angst for me; that being said, I did listen to the whole production. I did speed it up a bit and it was just fine that way.

PA Perspective
Revisado: 12-14-24
Overall, enjoyed this episode. I, too, would be interested in learning how many MD/DO prescriptions vs PA vs NP prescriptions were written for oral steroids in the study that was mentioned. In our PA program, we were made very well aware during our training of the potential sequelae of corticosteroids. In fact, our pharmacology professor, Dr. Tom Tenner, also taught at the TTUHSC School of Medicine and I’m confident that he never shorted us on our education. Very proud to be a PA, always with my patients’ best interests at heart.

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Good story
Revisado: 09-02-24
Nice easy listen. My only complaint is that the narration volume varied considerably. It makes it hard for listening through AirPods and assistive hearing devices; often either too quiet or too loud. Other than that, I thought the book was great.

Historia
Former Broadway dancer and current agoraphobic Billy Shine has not set foot outside his apartment in almost a decade. He has glimpsed his neighbors--beautiful manicurist Rayleen, lonely old Ms. Hinman, bigoted and angry Mr. Lafferty, kind-hearted Felipe, and nine-year-old Grace and her former addict mother, Eileen. But most of them have never seen Billy. Not until Grace begins to sit outside on the building's front stoop for hours every day, inches from Billy's patio.

Gut wrenching
Revisado: 07-13-24
Even though I’ve heard the story before and seen documentaries about it, it’s still so hard to fathom what these climbers went through on this journey. It’s easy to question their decisions, motives, and soundness of mind from the sidelines so being in their shoes for a few hours was eye opening. Still a hard listen.
