When you think of ADHD, you immediately think of impulsivity and hyperactivity. Well, this is only one type of ADHD, which shows up more often in boys. The other, less talked-about classification is inattentive ADHD, which largely affects girls.

Great resource for any caregiver
Revisado: 02-24-24
The audio presentation was not my favorite, but it was a great enough resource that it didn’t stop me from finishing the book. Even asked my parents to read the book so they could have a better understanding of their granddaughter,

Historia
As an award-winning science journalist, Melinda Wenner Moyer was regularly asked to investigate and address all kinds of parenting questions. But as Melinda's children grew, she found that one huge area was ignored in the realm of parenting advice: How do we make sure our kids don't grow up to be assholes? How to Raise Kids Who Aren't Assholes is a deeply researched, evidence-based primer that provides a fresh, often surprising perspective on parenting issues, from toddlerhood through the teenage years.

If you voted Trump, author thinks you’re an a-hole
Revisado: 02-22-24
The only positives I have to say about this book was the authors voice was very pleasant to listen to and I did love the idea of a “family” phone because I am definitely not ready to give my 6th grader a cell phone even though ALL of her friends have one. Thanks for the tip!
Otherwise, the author pushes a no pronoun, transgender agenda and loves to throw in MULTIPLE times her dislike of Trump. Really, it got awkward how many times she brought him into the book. It was really odd how she’s preaching this idea of being open minded and kind to everyone, yet she can’t see the other side of any of the topics she writes about.
If you are super left, you’ll love the book. If you are middle of the road, you’ll probably find it a mediocre parenting book, if you’re right, don’t bother.
I’ve read over 20 parenting books and never have I been so put off by an authors politics IN A PARENTING BOOK! Really disappointing.

Don't get your hopes up
Revisado: 09-14-23
This was one of my least favorite parenting books I have ever listened to. The majority of advice is common sense. The book is also redundant. I wanted to stop listening half way through but thought maybe it would get better, I was mistaken. Don't waste your credits or your money.

Ellen Braaten and Brian Willoughby have worked with thousands of kids and teens who struggle with an area of cognitive functioning called "processing speed" and who are often mislabeled as lazy or unmotivated.

Addicted to parenting self help books!
Revisado: 04-12-23
I am hooked on parenting self help books! This book was exactly in that category but I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! It opened my eyes to what we are experiencing with our daughter. This book gave a great deal of information on tools to help at home and what you can do to advocate for your child at school. I highly recommend this book!
