Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

A Sobering and Important Read for Abuse Victims
Revisado: 08-28-22
Not all mothers are perfect, and some, unfortunately, can prove to be a toxic force in the lives of their children. It isn’t often that media is brave enough to portray the reality of the harsh complexities of a mother child bond, especially when that mother suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder or other anti-social mental diseases. Yet, when someone does speak their truth on these taboo subjects, it is an incredibly validating and important piece of media for the victims of this abuse. It’s raw, it’s uncomfortable, it’s real, and I hope that those who come to recognize their abuser for what they are will find hope in this book, that these experiences and awful things that happened do not define them, and that there is a life worth living outside their realm of control. Highly recommended.

Historia
Parker Nelson can’t wait for summer camp. She’ll have fun and make amazing memories, far away from the bullies who made seventh grade unbearable. But then something terrible happens: The mean girl who made life a living nightmare is in Parker’s cabin. Soon all the other girls turn on Parker, too—no one wants to be her friend. Except Jenny. Jenny’s the only one who is willing to listen. The only one who understands. The only one who feels the same way Parker does: that there's a deep, dark secret to making friends and she’s the only one who doesn't know it.

Engaging and Important
Revisado: 08-04-22
Delilah had done it again with yet another YA Horror/Thriller that is well paced, entertaining, and extremely relatable. The pacing is so good that I couldn’t put it down for more than a few hours before needing to listen to what happens next. I really enjoyed this book. Hits right in the feels for anyone who has experienced bullying. This is an important story for all ages.

If you’ve been with a narcissist don’t read
Revisado: 05-06-20
This book made me super uncomfortable. If you’ve been in abusive relationships and are sensitive to gaslighting skip this. It was free so whatever but I couldn’t get through it. Gave me a ton of anxiety even tho I’m a fan of thrillers and horror. It hits too close to home and is just not a fun time, also the admiration and lust the main character has for the guy running the retreat is gross. Not for me.
