Historia
Cutthroat political consultant Thom Morgan is thriving, working on the governor of California’s presidential campaign. If only he didn’t have to deal with Clay Parker, the infuriatingly smug data analyst who gets under Thom’s skin like it’s his job. In the midst of one of their heated and very public arguments, a journalist snaps a photo, but the image makes it look like they’re kissing. As if that weren’t already worst-nightmare territory, the photo goes viral—and in a bid to secure the liberal vote, the governor asks them to lean into it. Hard.

I wish the main characters were more likable
Revisado: 03-31-25
It took a very long time for me to like the main characters, but the ending was pretty perfect.

Historia
It’s the flight before Christmas and Molly just got an unexpected gift: a free first-class upgrade on her plane trip home for the holidays. Bring on the complimentary cocktails! But after one too many, she spills all her secrets to the hot guy seated next to her—only to wake up mortified when her buzz has worn off. At least she never has to see Liam again ... or so she thinks. When Molly arrives at Christmas House, the festive rental home that she and her family are sharing with her sister’s fiancé and his wealthy family, she discovers that Liam is one of the new in-laws. Oops.

Could not finish
Revisado: 12-31-24
I just couldn’t get through this. Its story has some really obvious foreshadowing as one does in these sorts of books, but I like my characters a little more likeable.

I read this because I really liked the movie
Revisado: 07-06-23
I watched the movie version of this book many years ago, and so when I saw it listed I thought to reacquaint myself with the story. The first two parts follow the film closely, but part three deviates quite a bit. That said, while I prefer the movie ending, the novel’s ending is pretty satisfying. Love it.
